...on, everybody? Welcome to another special mini episode of the Basement Lounge. We are coming up here quick on our first full, regular returning episode that'll be dropping on February seventh. Well, more in AESSENCE, about that here in the next week, but I thought this would be a really cool time to tell you guys about some cool shit that I've been using lately. All Right, and you're listening to it right now, Mike. What do you mean? Although, Mike, I do notice that your voice sounds much more velvety and deep and powerful and and that strange hissing noise is suddenly gone from the background. Well, if you follow me on social media, you know I got a new toy in the mail and I've been playing around with it and I've been having a lot of fun with that. I am now the prown owner of a road cast ester pro podcast mixer. This thing is just incredible. Is My absolute new favorite toy in the world. I am playing the music right now out of the road cast straight into the recording and while...

...talking into it. And you know, I did a whole special preview video of me unboxing this thing that you can check out online, and right now I'm just going to toss to where I did a full test of this thing earlier today and you can hear all the fun with it and just enjoy that. But yeah, this thing is totally awesome. Check it out. If you're a podcaster, you've got a little extra money to spare. The road caster pro is my first road product and I'm really happy with it, actually really happy with it. So check it out. And now, yeah, let's let's dip out. We're going to do is we're going to go to the recording I did earlier today of me testing this thing out. What's going on, everybody, and welcome to the test episode of the New Road Caster pro here in the basement lounge studio. I am your host, Mike Shay. Hopefully you guys can hear me loud and clear. Hopefully this isn't too...

...loud. I'm seeing a little bit of peeking on the overall audios. I'm going to boost pull things down a little bit. I'm currently playing this music that you're hearing off of this sound effect pad that I have here off the red button. So we're going to let that finish playing out and see what happens in the meantime. Yeah, I'm talking to you guys through the road caster pro. I've got my short smseven being microphone being used. There's about, Oh, twenty seconds left of the record of the sound effect that we're hearing and I know that because when I look here on the on the road caster pro, there's little display of a music note and it's color coded red. That's got a little timer countdown on it and that lets me know how much time is left in this and, as you can hear, the user just ended on its own. That's a cool little intro track. I can bed it and talk over it until it ends on its own. Isn't that awesome, guys? Yeah, all right, so that was our applause track, and then we've also got a and who doesn't love a good yeah,...

...and that awesome. You know what? You Suck, you suck. I'm just kidding. You don't suck. I love you. My love for you is so strong it's almost scary. Having a lot of fun with this. So if you guys can hear those, I'm going to play around eventually. Okay, shut up, and get my own sound effects going in this thing. So what I'm going to do now is I'm actually going to get this thing connected via Bluetooth to my phone. We're going to see what happens here. I don't know if I can do that. Wow, I'm currently recording. I might not be able to, but let's see. Here's I'm going to hold down the Bluetooth Button and we're looking for other devices on the phone. Okay, so would you like to pair a smartphone, tablet or computer? The answer is yes, and now it's showing up as road cast pro we're going to connect it to the phone and we've got the phone connected.

So now what I'm going to do is I'm going to pull up some tunes on my phone. Let's pull up some Lionel Richie and we're going to see what happens here with you inside and the run dreams. I've kiss to its thousand types, so that sounds pretty good. That audio quality sounds really good coming off the phone through the Bluetooth. So what we do now is I'm watching going to get text my mother and tell her to call my phone and see what happens. See, call my phone, please, question or be helpful. If I could spell these words correctly, call my phone please.

I'm testing my new toy. So we're going to see if my mom gives us a call here in a will pot up the pot up the phone and see what happens here. In the meantime, guys, I just want you this thing is really cool. I mean this thing is really, really freaking awesome. I don't have a micro as D card on me as of right now. I do want to go get one, probably here at some point, and plug that in and test out the independent recording as opposed to recording into my computer, and we're going to see what happens with that. Mom, read my text message and see if she's Ambleton. Call me. Come on, mom, you can do it. Come on, please, please, call me, please call me. I wonder if she's upstairs right now, if she's sitting upstairs listening to me record this bullcrap. And then, okay, so we got a call coming through. Get hear it. Let's see here. audio. Hello, hello, I. Hi. How you...

...doing? I'm good. I'm gonna I'm going to tap my microphone. Can you tell me if you hear it? And I what I'm going to tap my microphone. Can you tell me if you hear it? Okay, good Y, fairly barely. Okay, it's probably probably just hearing it because it's next to the microphone. Okay, all right, that was it. I just wanted to do. I wasn't sure. I didn't know if you'd be able to or not, but if you can hear me talking then that's fine. Okay, fine, and I'm in a restaurant with music, so okay, well then I will. I'll let you go then. I just wanted to test this thing out. You're fine. Love you, mom by. So there you go. So we know that with the Bluetooth connection that the the the microphone direct audio doesn't go to the phone. She still hearing me over the actual phone itself. So the Bluetooth function acts as an input to...

...the phone only, not an output to the phone. What I want to do next is I want to find a way to connect my phone to the actual direct connection in the back of the road caster pro and we'll do that on a different episode, a different one of these, and then we'll be able to see if that change is how the input output works on the phone. But either way, I got to tell you the quality on that call sounded pretty good. This thing overall is probably one of the best pieces of podcasting recording tech you could ever get your hands on. So I highly recommend you guys get ahold of one of these. These things are fantastic. Now they are not cheap, you know, whopping six hundred bucks but I will say this is probably the best chunk of change I ever painfully shelled out. I'm telling you, like I saved up for months to hit this thing and even though I had the money set aside, hitting that check out button still hurt just a little bit. But all at all, I am super happy with this. I can't wait to experiment with some more and program my own sound effects and stuff and really step up the game for the basement lounge going into the rest of c of the season. And with that I'm going to...

...take it back to you the rest of the video that we're shooting here, unless you're listen to this on the podcast channel, in which case cool. Talk to you guys. So there you have a guys, that was me testing out and playing around with the brand new road cast pro hope you guys really enjoyed that. I'm to be making full use of this thing going forward. We're going to have a lot of fun playing with this thing on the show as we continue on, and I'm going to put just some just be able to really have more fun with how we record the show and is going to make the show a lot better. So, like I said earlier, we'll be back with full episodes again on February seventh. We got one more special, you know, break episode for you guys next week and then we're going to get back into things. Hopefully guys are enjoying these little minisodes. You know we got new content coming for you as well. Make sure you go to the website, Basement Lounge podcom to get all the information there, and we'll see you guys again real soon.
