But, as I mentioned last week, throughout the month of March, every week we're doing an episode. It's all about gratitude. Gratitude is the theme of this month here. Forme I've been doing something on my personal facebook page, drive and you know, showing appreciation to people who have been a big influence in my life overthe years. And I want to do the same thing for the people whosupport the show through anchor and Patreon. Last week we talked about Mike Wells, who supports the show through Patreon. Is a good friend of mine, great comedian, been a guest on the show couple different times, and thisweek I wanted to show gratitude to somebody you guys, and who most ofyou, unless you're this person, probably...

...don't actually know. It's a verygood friend of mine from college and we're going to learn a little bit moreabout her in this show and our friendship and how far back it goes andwhy she means just the world to me. But as a reminder, when Ialways let you guys know if you do feel the need, the urgeto the desire to support this show financially and be a part of our VIPTmeame and and get awesome rewards and cool stuff like that, you can alwaysdo so by going to our Patreon, which is patreoncom Basement Lounge pod.You can also do so through the anchor APP. If you use the anchorAPP, you can, you can. You don't really need to use anchorAPP, but you can support us through anchor as well. So those aregreat way to do that. Even if you don't want to, you know, donate the dollar a month, you can always just like and subscribe andleave us a rating, your review on Apple podcast and share us on socialmedia and to help get the word out, things like that, and we're always, always so grateful that you guys do things like that, when youguys do things like that. But yeah, so today I am showing gratitude andshouting out to a very good friend of mine, someone I've known sincecollege, somebody who I met through one of the more unconventional ways in life. Everybody Remembers Tumbler, as Tumbler still a thing? I don't know.I abandoned ship a while ago, but Tumbler, man, that was mythat was my website, a choice, that was my crack cocaine. AsI you know, why? Why? I always you learning. I don'tunderstand. I really don't like. I got a good night's sleep. I'vebeen fine all day. Haven't yawned once since I sit in front of themicrophone yawning constantly. But through Tumbler. Tumbler was how I met this personand it was through a friend of a friend of a friend of a friendor something like that, and her name is Whitney Latin. Whitney Latin. At the time her name was Whitney Up Church. She has since gotten marriedto a wonderful man named Devin Latin, who I love to death. Ilove that guy. It's Great Cook.

You made me a philly cheese steakcast role one time when I went over for dinner. Just dishes, butyeah, Whitney Latin. Whitney Latin is somebody that he met through Tumbler who, like I said, was a friend of a friend who she then woundup. We wound up going to lander university at the same time and wegot to finally meet in person, and to say that we just became theinseparable best of friends is an understatement. Whitney became one of my favorite thingsin the world, which is she was my concert buddy. We were alwaysgoing to concerts together. There was one time in college we drove out toGreenville and went and saw hailstorm play at this bar, and I mean theyhailstorm was big at this point. They were huge, but they were stillplaying little bar shows and they played this bar show and it was it wasfantastic and we got to hang out outside after the show and meet the bandand it was great. As a picture I'm going to throw up here,it's a picture of of me and Whitney with Lizzie Hale from hailstorm and it'sjust that's so cool. was such a great night. Had so much funthat night. But yeah, Whitney became my concert buddy. We went toCarolina rebellion together in two thousand and fifteen, right before I moved saw in thismoment together. We went to a bunch of shows together and Whitney justis. She's such a great, great little ball of energy, is away I can describe it. Speaking of that hailstorm concert, here's that greatso so Whitney is very much an artistic, creative person. Whitney was making likeplushy dolls for the longest time and I one of the first ones shemade is one she made for me and I still have it and here's apicture of it here if you're watching on the video version, if you're notabout to put it on my instagram. She made me a little plushy dollof a Lizzie Hale and she even put the doll in the outfit that Lizziewas wearing that night at that concert. We went and saw them, sawthem together. That's that's just one of...

...the great things about Whitney's she's sostinking creative. She's so stinking creative and so thoughtful and she's always looking forways to just be artistic and and she's not like one of those like traditional, like art major people who, you know, walk around wearing a beretand live the starving artist lifestyle, which, if you do that, that's fine, but she's a practical person. But she's just fun and it's theway that she sees the world. The way she sees the world is unlikeanybody else that I know. And you know she's a she's a young womanwho's WHO's had her share of hardships and troubles in life and, like alot of us, you know, the journey, the journey through through romancewas a bumpy one. But what she met? Met this guy named Devinand a guy named Devin Devon. Devan's an interesting guy. I like themat a lot, actually, I really do. And when they finally gotmarried, it was one of those just like well, it's about damn timealready devans, a Devon's a great guy. Listen, the fact the matter isthis guy let me sleep on his couch and drive all the way toCharlotte, North Carolina with his well, then girlfriend, I guess. Idon't know if they were engaged by that. I don't think so. No,they I think so. But is then girlfriend to go to this likeall day music festival with her and then drive back, like anybody who's thattrusting and that cool with it is is a winner in my book. ButWhitney, you know, she's one of the like you can't just pin down, like what's Whitney into? One of the things when he's into, Whitney'sinto freaking everything, okay, like she's into video games, she's into youknow, Harry Potter loves cats. Always, always said, always said she wasgoing to wind up just being a crazy cat lady. She's like,I'm never' I'm gonna be single forever. He's gonna get a lot of cats. Well, she did both. She...

...got married and she got a lotof cats. But she's yeah, she's into everything. I mean, youtalk about someone who I can always rely on to share some of the beststinking memes ever on facebook, and that is Whitney. Whitney never fails tomake me laugh. I even when she and I had our problems, becausewhat friendship doesn't go through its own, its own trials. Even at timeswhere maybe we were having a fight about something, we got over it realquick. That's the great thing about a good friend is when you can talkthrough the problems you're having with each other and come out of it laughing. You know, sometimes we get into a fight with our friends and then that'sit's sticks. Maybe you get maybe you get through the fight, but thefriendship is forever changed, you know what I mean? The friendship is forevereffected. Maybe it loses some of its strength, maybe lose it loses someof its some of its funds when it's grandeur. That didn't happen with BeingWhitney. Whitney and I would have a disagreement, we talk it out. There might be a day or two where we just kind of fumed and thenwe come back and we'd speak and we talk it out. We'd hear eachother out. Usually it turned out that I was being an asshole. Ithappens. That's I have a black belt and being an asshole. We'd getthrough it and we'd be forever the better for it and we'd still, tothis day, are the same weird, goofy pair of people no matter what, even after all these years, because now it's been, God, it'sbeen seven years since since, you know, we finished college. We finished collegetogether. That was such a great thing, as we've got to finishcollege together here, but to to be this long as friends and for ourfriendship to still be the same something about. Any time I talked to Whitney I'mtransported back to those college days and it's like it's never missed a beatand I love this girl so much. She is again. She is somuch fun and never fails to make me...

...laugh. It's, without fail, one of my fondest memories of hanging out with Whitney was just driving to Chili's, like who we got it? We were in college, it was adry campus. We just drove the chilis and just went nuts on Margarita's forall freaking night and then came back to campus and we're just we were justwasted, we were just, we're gone. I wound up not going to anyclasses the next day. That that's for damn sure we are, andwe were a weird couple of folks and it was it was interesting because, you know, I am a very weird, nerdy group of friends and it wasso great to see how well Whitney really blended in with all of itand how well she really, you know, mixed in with our with our crazygroup of friends, and how much fun it was. It was tohave her to hang out with, because we could always count on her tojust be there, you know what I mean? One of my first shortfilms that I got to make in college she was so kind enough to bea part of and I loved having her in it because she did such agood job and it was so great having her there. That short film willnever again see the light of day. It's going to stay wrapped up,but that's just fine. But getting to have Whitney as a friend for allthese years and getting to see that she took it upon herself to become asupporter of the show on Patreon was was crazy to me that she would dothat at it really just warmed my heart and solidified just what a good friendWhitney truly is that she was willing to make that kind of a that kindof a commitment, that kind of a gesture to show that see that shesupported what I was doing. I really did love that about her, thatshe did that, and she somebody who I will always hold very deeply inmy heart. There you know, like with a lot of friends, whenyou're keeping them at a long keeping them at long distance because, well, you live five states apart. You know,...

...don't always stay in contact the best. I'm guilty of that. Just this is pretty much anybody listen tothe show. I will in the bed. We go a long time without reallysaying anything to each other because our lives are just going into different directions. But that doesn't mean that when we don't, when we do talk together, talk to each other, that we don't have a blast and I alwayslove it when I get to talk to Whitney. I'm so glad that allthose years ago I chose to follow her on Tumblr, because if I hadn'tfollowed her on Tumblr, so many amazing memories and experience as I've had inmy life never would have happened. And for that, Whitney Latin, Isay thank you for being my friend and being the wonderful quirky, weird personthat you've always been, because it's what we all love most about you.So thank you, Whitney, for being my friend. And that's going todo it for this week's episode of gratitude. You guys can always follow along withthe show on social media at Basement Lounge pod on instagram and facebook,at tbl underscore pod on twitter, check out the website, basement lounch podcomand again, if you want to support the show, you can do soeither through anchor or by going to our patreon.
