He is a comedy clubowner. We love having 'em on. We love chatting with them. Ladies andGentlemen, Please Welcome Msr Don Smith back to the show, what's Happenin ManDon Gid, to have you back man, good good, to talk to you again, it's uh!It's been, it's been a hot minute it. It definitely has definitely and youand you forgot actor and voiceover thats right. I've been doing that stufftoo. That's right! You been you doeverything then ight. I try I tr. I try to do a lot of stuff I've. Actually Igot to. I got NTO voice character in a children's audiobook a couple of a fewweeks ago. I don't know H, I don't know how that's going to turn out yet butyeah. I got to a friend of mine, already napped. As a children's authorhe's also a director. I've worked with he directed h from Gettysburg to Bagdad, okaythattiwas in so yeah. He he had a children's book. He wanted to do anaudio book. For so I got to play one of the characters, which was fun. Were youthe were the grumpy farmer or something or actually wasn't farmer yet, and he was slightly grumping 'cause. Hehad a a chicken that mood instead of crowed, that's oniso yeah! I was a bitof a grumpy farmer, that's a fantastic...

...g man, I'm full of EM. You know th, that's so you we also got to have you on on deadSyrios. Briefly, as as the as as the president yeah, and that was from from cleeless president to grumpyfarmer, Oan you're Y Someo, some of your lines in dead Syrias were just thefunniest I just I loved it. I loved your dialogue, so much tha that thatwas a fun show. Yeah Wewe're working on season, three hopeinly we'll get tobring you back at some point m. It was Lov o fun hour. How are things going man ingeneral? He hahaling all this shit, it's it's! It's different man! It'sdifferent, there's a a lot of uncertainty right now, just all overthe place. I don't know 'cause, of course, technically restaurants and bars canreopen. May Twenty first in the state of Ohio, but there's something in thereabout how you, if it's, if it's an entertainment area like a stage if ithas nothing to do with food or drink service, it has to remain empty. Well, how's that going to work for a comedy club right, you're, you're, both rightexactly it's so there's it's the whole thing's a mess. I don't I'm fairlycertain. We won't be reopening on the twenty first, but I don't. I've been working with mypartners to try to figure out what all we need to do and right now there's alot of fighting with the vendors and banks and stuff. I I Y you're, not looking for any banks ofsponsorships for thes show. Are you no? I just want to say if you ever decideto start a business and you need to get a business banking account anyone butpanc they are the absolute worst. Really I have Oh, I don't even want toget into too much of it, but the they they are throughout this whole thing. They have been uncooperative downright crappy, just terrible to deal with Jeez. I mean theyshey're a bank, so technically they're evil to begin with, but they have this. They they have this whole other levelto 'em, say it's KINDOF part for the course forbanks, they're done, but oh yeah, that's but yeah. I don't which I don'tknow. I haven't had a business account through other banks, just my ownpersonal accounts, but Kso, so they might all be absolutely worthless. But I meanthey're all criminals anyway, but you know I I don't know if this is a new levelfor them yeah it especially considering I mean right now we're in we're in asituation where nobody really knows what to do right. I mean nobody knowsany SHA US we're two months at the club with no income. You know it's I mean there's only so much. We can do exactlyand you're talking about. You know...

...having to limit the number of peoplewho come in which it's already not a huge space. I mean it's a big space, but it's not you know. Havet, I meanwell. Technically, with Wireleaves,we haven't had a problem limiting the number of people. They theye prettymuch limited themselves as far as that's part of the problem, if they, ifthey had learned to not limit themselves before, we might have hadbigger crowds, but they were pretty good at limiting the amount of peoplethat came in. We didn't even have to work on that, soGod, Ie g can at least speak for the theCOMEDIANS. You know we e, we definitely miss going to wiles and and w mean wemiss, we missdoing stand up in general. Right now I mean that's. Why startedthe DISCORDG thing? 'cause, everybody was just going stir crazy en needed, something. You know the discord, thing's, not great, but it's it's it'ssomething yeah I I haven'. I have notparticipated in any any of those, I'm taking a break from a lot of thingsright now. 'cause I mean I I had so much going on before this happened thathonestly there's a part of this that I'm I'm kind of enjoying it. I won'tsay free time, 'cause, I'm still fairly busy. I've been doing a lot moreinterviews, th the life radio show which is notcurrently going out over WWSU. So it's just the pod cast now, but I've beendropping four episodes a week now, 'cause, I'm doing I'm doing I'm doing athrowback Thursday episode. So I'm going back to all the old episodes fromwhen I first started the PODCAST and I'm re: Releasing Them O. Okay, so you're, just you're,rinking stuff out all week, pretty much pretty much. I I've I'vehad a lot of fun interviews recently h this Friday, I'm going to have aepisode coming out. Where I get to T. I got to interview the Bruce Valanche getthe hell out of here, which was fantastic. 'cause t ey got like twominutes in and realized. I wasn't even recording Y. He was a lot of fun though he wasLhe was a great guest to talk to. He was a blast, that's good, which ofcourse, Bruce filant she's written for just about every award show and everyevery variety show. Since the mid Seventies. You know they, the braing, the Brady bunch variety of hour is one that h. We talkabout for a little bit and no Nehe did he wrote for that? One Yeah. He wrotefor these. He wrote for the Star Wars Holiday Special, so that was his fault. That was his fatat was his fault. I'm talking about that'cause, I Wasi wasvery interested in that one Jesus. My mom got up. My mom got a bootleg copythat she get one Tho watch it a Christmas time and I said under nocertain cercircumstances. Am I...

...subjecting myself to that more thanonce in my lifetime see I haven't actually seen the wholething O. I'm goingto have to find it and watch it just so. I can see whatkind of an actual disaster it was 'cause. It just sounds like it would beit's. Oh Man, it's it's a special kind of bad. It's like it's like Tommy was so in theroom. It's like there's no way. This is real nwe! Oh, it is real. Oh God, Yeahoh yeah talking with Bruce was ablast. That's really cool! That's still, that', that's a great guess to get, andthen he got. He seems like he'd, be an interesting cat to talk to Oh yeah, Ohyeah, it is, it was fun. It's IT'S J T S it'scrazy times right now, so you know you talk about. You know getting to almost take a break fromthings. You know when you realize just how busy you were Um and getting to just you know, put somethings on hold that, maybe you would have thought about. Maybe you had neverconsidered before and and kind of shipped your focus a little bit. Yeahyeah, it's it's! It's! It's been a differentcouple of months as if, of course, I'm still working 'cause, I'm I'm one ofthose essential people so yeah, but they moved me to second shift andnow I'm on call, so I'm getting all kinds of overtime right now. Well, first of all, condons is on thesecond shift thing. I feel you're pain, it's it's Ough, it's not great, but theovertime's nice. And yes, yes, it is well hopefully, hopefully in a coupleof weeks, I'll be back on day shift and I won't have to worry about it anymore.Well, there you go that that that's the kind of the hope you know. For me. It'sbeen one of those. It's like my lifestyle hasn't really changed a wholelot. I I don't get to go H, don't go to the liquor store quite as much but other than that M. my lifestyle wasjust Kinda, pretty much the same. Well, yeah it it's funny 'cause! I I Istocked up on Voket case and I've since everything's calmeddown and I'm not doing nearly as much I'm not as stressed out as I W was. Ireally haven't felt like drinking much, so I'm go, I'm still well stocked onvodkathers. I'm I'm good Wedn'n go another coupleof months with this I I can take it. I had I had stocked up before everythingstarted. Just just coincidentally, and then I found myself sorry foryaning. Ifound myself last week, suddenly realized that all Ihad left was the good birb and A. I was like the want to open the good bourbonjust yet, but I really wanted to drink so e got open. So now I'm kindaf likewell Shi. No, I really have to go back to the store again 'cause, I'm notgoing to just sit here and waste the good burbon on on sad alone and homedrinking. That's that tha that th that's not celebratorydrink. No, that's good! Burbon, stuff e good bourbons for, like you, know, postcoitl drinking. You know that kind of thing oppostd to anyod. You have so much ofit exactly it's why I haven't opened it...

...yet. Yep I'd have plenty too, but Idon't drink purbl, so yeah I gotto go an get. Tgngo getthe cheap Shito get some beam or something Um, but you know I saw you guys had put upa someone. Someone know you guys go funme had gone up for the folks who who work at Wiley's O. II believe Joe Young started did joe do that she was a good just started thatwhich is fantastic 'cause. I mean a lot of 'em a lot of 'em since it wasa part time job and we only they only worked a couple days a week. A lot ofHem didn't qualify for unemployment, so it was just than income was just gone.Sucks yeah, but I saw th. I saw it reached its goal, so that was that mademe happy. I was glad to see that happen. Yeah me me too me too. I me, hopefullywe'll be able to get back on our feet soon and and keep things going. 'CAUSEeven Toug, they're really part time m an those those folks have worked therefor ever. Oh Yeah, Oh yeah, I mean that'sthat's home to them eway from home, as it is for a lot of folks, especiallyin the comedy scene, around Daton Um, but other than that man. You know it'sjust you know you got work and, and the pondcast but have have. You hid a pointwhere, where you start to feel a little bit restless yet not really. Just because I mean I Istay busy anyway, I have so much to do around the house that I haven't. Even Ihaven't. Even you know, CR Skim the surface on the stuff. I needto do in this place. 'cause it's it's been neglected for a while 'cause I'vebeen here. I've had too much going on outside of here so yeah. I I I have. I I think I've handled it fairly well, woto getting a lot of stuff done around the house. That Shou just had beenputting off Oh yeah, Oh yeah. I didn't realize how bad my bathroom sinck was.I think it was leaking everywhere, so I I spent I spent several hours underthat one day. You know just every every little thing here and there that I'vebeen like I'll get to that I've been getting to it now so t at that's a goodthing that that's been us too. You know I live with mom and you know her herjob she's she's on she's fur aload right now, so you know I remember herfirst day on her first day out of work. She was like you guys are in so muchdeep shit 'cause. I got so many projects around the house. I want doneI as Kindo, like that. All I still have a job so by, but I mean even Ourla. Even ourlandlord has taken the. I guess you know whatever his regular job is. Is Ithe same situation? 'CAUSE? All of a sudden, all our landscaping is gettingredone. He repainted the house, they're goingto start redoing our roof thisweek and we're like okay. So everyone's bored, Al Right, yeah yeah, there's alot of that. There's a lot of people. We actually had one of the neighborkids come over and wanted to mow my...

...lawn the other day o couple of weeksago. I couldn't get him to come back this week. I had to do it myself, butI' You know little brick. That's what I thought. That's hey! Come Om man come back! That's long!Still! Here it's it t keeps growing. You can do it again. I recorded achildren's book for you come on. Well, he was a high school kid. I don'tthink the Children's book would have impressed him. Oh well, exacty! Inthe meantime, let's get going and get back to the show, but yeah man- it's it's it's weird it'sI I spent four hours yesterday running cables all over the house trying to getpeople's computers hard wired in the House 'cause. It was like I'm out of things to do. I've doneeverything all my projects. In the last I I was able to complete him in thelast two months and it's like well shit. Now. What do I do? Yeah? That's! That'sthat's what happens with too much free time yeah! I I have so many otherprojects, I'm gon to start, but I haven't yet so o with the you know, with the lifegoing on you know in in in podcast warm only now. You know w t the Raio stationbeing done. Has It like for me, you know 'cause. I starteddoing like the live streams with Thi show and you know ' been doing shorterepisodes of the main podcast and it it's. It's KINDOF been a bit of aalmost like a like I'm like a reworking shit and I'mkind of finding things that maybe I didn't realize weren't working as well the first timeand I kindo like the way they're going now. Has I been somethn kind of similarlike? Are you enjoying the new way of doing things little bit better? Is itgiving you ideas for what you want to do when, when Shit Kinda gets a littlebit normal you're in the future? I miss the live, shows tha t, that'sthe biggest thing, 'cause everything's prerecorded now for the podcast I missdoing the live. Radio shows I miss the cameras and go on facebook live, I missbeing able to have a studio full of comedians rather than just going one onone over the phone 'cause. That was one of my favoritethings. Is I love bringing in one of my local comedian, friends that has a lotin common with the the person that I'm...

...interviewing over the phone from La you,Kno Se. I I did that a lot I'd try to match hem up where th I didn't evenhave to talk, and I miss that I miss not having totalk when I interview People Eloo at it. I know that sounds weird, but it it was fun to me to bring in a gess that hit it off really well withmy other gas to bring in a guess cohost that could that just one of my favorite thing is, I thinkthere there was a guy that wrote for Fanguria magazine a little bit and hadhim on with a a film local, filmmaker and horror film, director Henrikuto, those two just went nuts. It was great 'cause, Iyou know I I spoke a little bit, but I really didn't have to. I could just letthose two go and it's like all right cool, I'm good, itswhy Lov. We had wehad Ray Jackson on last week. I love having Rayon. He makes my job so easy.'cause all YOUV got to do o is introduce him and then he takes it fromthere yeah yeah. That's I love gas like that. T ey just are' There to talk andyou don't have to keep proding them 'cause every now, and then you get thatges towhere you just you just have to keep you pull information out of Hemand it's still just not enough. You can't get 'em to take off and go yeah.I've got a couple of those com. I shocking too, is when it's COMEDIANS.It's like. How are you this hard to get? Ishouldn't have to work this hard to get you to talk right right. You should youshould want to promote yourself. You should want to get on here and saystuff, that's what you do like like, like the most interestingthing you have to say is talking about you collecting, Lego kits and I'm nottalking about anyone person in particular not at all, not one bit. No,not not at all Um. I shouldn't have to force that Ada Coleon right. I don't collect Lego kids, but if I did probably wouldn't talk aboutit, it's not a knock against Lego, kids, but it's like come on. Man Give me something more than that, but yeah I I collect debt, that's Oh yeah, collection is debt and I'm I've got some Dozys II'm. Still, I'm still throwing aroundthe idea of of going back to school and either getngother bachelors or gettingmy masters. But it's just like I lasthat right there. I look at how muchdebt I already have I'm just Kinda like do. I want to add to that. Oh Yeah, the student lounge well well. They've deferred them now, yeah, I'm just a cove at nineteen, it's like, then, why am I still getting emails and and letters from a masking me to pait? Well, they you haven't deferred anything. It's Ki. It's KINDOF like these smallbusiness loans that they keep saying. You can get right now to help bridgethe gap. The coveat Nigneteen shut down, Bolyeo Shit, there's only one that wequalified and if you did not get in...

...there like one of the first hundred andtwenty applications, you you can't get it now, you're screwed, they don'texist. So all this all Thai trillions of dollars they put out there to helpsmall business that went to all the big businesses and the banks and theinsurance companies and small businesses got screwed, because wedon't make enough to contribute money to campaigns exactly that'srthat's,exactly what it is. If you C, if you don't make enough to contribute to apolitical campaign, you don't matter 'cause you're, going to see companiesha you're, going to see businesses like wiles or like feathers, R or Brim, areGoingto, be you know on the verge of shutting down. If thisthing goes on too long- and I understand I- I I understand the reasonfor businesses having to shut down like that's not my issue. My issue is thatwe're going to all these great lengths to save the businesses who are Gong to befine right, it's the ones who are who might not survive another month, anthis that need the help and they're the ones not getting it. Oh Yeah.Absolutely, and the thing is I mean there, there are gofunmes yeah, I'mvery hesitant to use that, because there was a person that UsdaGofun me for whily's years ago that screwed a lot of people over EXAC. Idon't want to have to retort to that. I don't want to be compared with that.Absolut yeah know exactly what you're talking about. I can certainly do. Icertainly do know what you're talking about and- and I completely understandand I've seen you know- I'm actually surprised. I haven't seen morebusinesses putting them. I know four one six put one out and it hasn'treally even come close to hitting its goal. An. I think I think feathers did.I think feathers put one out that I don't know if it was Omor if it was adifferent kind of donations. Ah something out Um yeah lit t t therehave been a couple therehave, but the problem you run into is a lot of peopleright now. You know, aren't sure if they're goingto have the money to contribute, especially when a lot of thesebusinesses, they need ten thousands of dollars and that's ahard. That's a hard amount of crowd sourcs when the people are reaching outTou for money, don't know if they're going to have money from one riht o thenext right, they they might not be working, they might be. You knowwaiting on an unemployment check that should have been here months ago and'cause. I I mean, I know people that have been out of work since all thisfirst started and they there's some of them that still haven't received theirfirst unemployment check. Everything got so backed up, and there was I mean this was just it's it's a tragic pain in the, as iswhat it is an it really is. They said, what do you do? Yeah, just just keep pushing forwardand hope we can recover and then er...

...everybody keeps talking about what thenew normal's going to be. It's like, okay, there have been pandemics beforethere will be again, we will come out of it and it may take a little while toshake it off, but we'll get back to a normal life it'. Just it's so shockingto me to see how poorly people right now are handling this andI'm not Iout, I'm not talking about government, I'm not talking about mwhat about people like o? It's been two months guyse. We have Netflix Hoolu,Disney, plus Amazon, prime th. We have the Internet and and a month and a half two months into thisthing and everyone is losing their minds and and protesting AF virus withar fifteens it's like. Well, you know they all they. They have nothing better to do.You know they military wouldn't take 'em, OBE tiny. They have to go, showoff their firearms. That's Y, and I have nothing against firearms. I'mprosecond amendment I have my concealed carry. I have firearms, I have nothingagainst them. I have something against an idiot that decides to march on thecapital building with assault weapons. For no reason I mean Y, they carry American flags and they have them right next toconfederate flags, which makes no sense. I guess they're at warwit themselves.Yes, I mean Thyr, they just have this interconflict, but I mean it makes it just they. I guarantee most of those people haveno military background, because otherwise they might understandsomething about sacrificing 'cause. They don't want to give up the right togo, get a hair cut to save lives. That's you know, that'sthat's too much for them to do, but they go out like they like theirmilitary. It's like okay, military men gave up their lives so that we can goget a hair exact and he won't give up going get a haircut to save a couple oflives. You are part of the problem I saw. I saw a post yesterday that that Ithink really spoke truth, which was being inconvenience, isn't the samething as being oppressed, know Asolutely, you know, you're, not beingoppressed, you're being told to just you know, adjust your lifestyle alittle bit right and and they don't they don't know what oppression isthey've never experienced it now they have no idea they just they just paranoid idiots oppression is, you know, being toldyou're not allowed to get married to the person you want to get married tooppression is being told you nowathat's being fortunate right there. That's wrong! That's fucking wrong. Ishouldn't have said that, but Welllo a as the only person on thisshow right now, who's experienced...

...marriage. I mean I've compe, but micice you can, if anyone's allowed. If anyone cancomment on that, it's you yeah, like there's yeah, I just 'causeyou're not allowed to Um. You know, go to a go o a concert rightround. Yeah rarely and- and I I th, I postded something the other day. Thatbasically said, like you know all all this shit is just people putting apriced tag on human life and it's like Rit's. All it takes for you guys is, isa mild inconvenience and suddenly human life, ecause 'cause, you see iteveryday oreveryone tries to rationalize he number of deaths. Oh youknow it's only been, and it's like. Okay, that's still a lot 'cause. Whatthey do is they always put it in a percentage ell. It's only been like youknow, three percent, it's like yeah, but three percent of six billion isstill a lot of people exactly yeah. That's I don't know which I I can kindaunderstand them not wanting to spend time at home because their kids arethere. I mean schools are closhed, they have to dealwith their children for the first time since they plopped hem out. I get it.That's why the liquor stores stayed op as 'cause. Everybody was wondering why theliquor stores it. Why I didn't like her start. They opening the schools.Clothes like no. The liquor stores are open because the schools are close. Erparents that haven't been around their children in ten years that suddenlyhave to spend time with them they're going to need something exactly but yeah it's it's it's crazy times andcrazy people out there that just it ID, I don't know I don't know itdoesn't really surprise me how little time it took people to crack M 'cause, you know we're Americans and if we don't get our own way right away, wewant to speak to the manager like a Huntryfull of carens. At this point, mypoiapology secure, Jaffy 'cause. She hates th, she hates those jokes, but atthe same time I think she secretly loves them. Oh Yeah we're a country full of car. In thingit's going to be the title of the episode T, I'm turning into you, I'mtitling the episode live on the that's the best way to do it. It reallyis. I love that Uh so before before beforeI let you go dog 'cause, I know you're on call andand Wewebe both got stuff to do. Um So tell everyone a little bit: U H! N! Wetauched o a brief. A LITTLE IA earlier, but l everybody what's going on rightnow, with with the life podcast with the life radio, showing pondcast,I'm hoping to get back on the air before two long on Wwsu, one O sixpoint: Nine FM out of Fairbourn Ohio. I don't know that. That's going to happenanytime soon, 'cause they're, having some issues over there with thescheduling 'cause, I used to still upload episodes up until like last weekwhen they told me that they weren't broadcasting any new content. so that'sfantastic, but basicallyevery. Right..., every Sunday, Tuesday and Friday,a brand new episode of the Life Radio Show comes out. We just release onetoday with Aaron Bossig, who has the hungry trilobite podcast, which is allabout it. I if you like Star Trek Star Wars, that kind of thing, if you're, ifyou're into that fantasy CIFI stuff, a hungry, trilbites a good pod cast foryou to listen to as well. I interviewed him Saturday, Saturday morning, episodedrop today. Of course, someone coming out on Friday with Blue Bruce Flanch. If you want to listen to some of our older podcast that do a throwbackThursday, of course, every Thursday and I'm rereleasing- I just started doingthis a couple of weeks ago, so I'm rereleasing the old episodes just allth way through from one just in in order of their appearance. So there's some really bad stuff from three years ago, as when I was still fumbling omy waythrough Podcastville, but h, you can find me about the life radio show andabout any any of the podcasts out there. You cango to the life one of six nine dotcom H, you can it's an old old website that Iprobably should have spent some of this downtime updating, but the links stillwork. The links to the shows still work on all the different feeds you can also. You can follow me. Attolife, one of six, nine on twitter, no twinters Don Smith, comedy e life. Oneof six Nin is on face book and on Instigram, which I don't do a lot with, but I am still there following me.
