...pen ultimate episode of Season One, episode forty nine. That's right. Next week is episode fifty. That is our big season finale episode with John Roca, the outlaw of the movie Trivia Schmo down, host of the outlaw nation and the cinephiles and the Geek Buddies and so many other things, and the top ten show we're going to be having him on. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to that, to that show next week. But I thought today was today, being episode forty nine and the saying the the the second to last show before the big finale, before our season one break, be good to just sit down and talk with you guys and just POW wow about, you know, how the season is gone and and what we're looking forward to for season two and we're going to do in the offseason as well. So I thought I'd be fun to just talk about that. And we've hinted at some of these things in the past too, but it'll be good to kind of confirm them for you or Polish off any details everyone to look at it. So first of all, yes, we are coming back for a season two. We're taking off the month of August. Just to you know, we've done this for fifty straight episode. We took a couple breaks here and there just because the world, but we're coming back for a season two. We're taking the entire month of August off just to rest and regroup, and by we I mean me, because we mentioned on social media earlier this week. First of all, big shout out to Travis diffender, for our longtime producer of the show is going to be stepping down and focusing on his career and his things. You know, we could not have done this show without travis. Travis really helped us get this show off the ground and helped me when I was early on, shaping the clay of the show,... it were. He helped me focus my ideas and focus what I wanted to on what I wanted to do, and he's been a great source of inspiration ever since. You know, we've mentioned before or that Travis is a sorry for you on he is an active duty member of the US Coast Guard and he's currently participating in a in a veterans writing program working on an actual screenplay with Hollywood professionals, and he's fully committed to that, as well as to his dead serious podcast and and the graphic novel that he's working on. He's a busy guy and he was really he was you know, really great in laying the groundwork for the show, but with him being involved in as many things as he is and he needs to focus on his own career, he really does, and he's done such a good job getting US set up take off on our own. So we're we and I talked and you know he's going to he's going to go off and work on his own and we're going to go off in our own direction. And you know, Travis and I go way back. We go all the way back to college and he's one of my best friends in the world and I'm happy that I do get to work with him. When I do, he's my creative partner and so we wish him the absolute best of luck. But going forward, one of the things we're going to be doing in our time off in August is I'm going to be looking for a new producer for the show, preferably somebody who is, you know, relatively local, who can be very hands on and help us with like the booking of guests and the social media presence, because right now it all kind of falls to me and that's a lot at is a lot to do and I forget a lot of things. Everyone once in a while you'll see where there's just not an instagram post. I haven't posted anything this week, for example. Part of that's because we you know again, we did have a guest originally booked for this week. Due to some very serious personal and family issues that we're going on, as well as professional, he needed to cancel, which was fine. You know, life...

...happens and you know we had enough notice to where I said, well, this will be a good chance for me to just sit down and just talk about what I wanted over what we're planning anyway. So that's why there was no social media post for anything this week. But so so. We're going to be looking for an actual producer, though, somebody who can help take take on this, the the responsibility of keeping the social media up to date and helping me get the guests booked and scheduled, because that has been an ordeal. But as we also have this survey up that exists if you go to our facebook page, facebookcom basement launch pod. We've had this survey going for a little while now and it's a short, ten question survey and we've had a lot of responses so far and if you haven't filled it out yet. Please, I I'm I am asking if everyone to co take a moment to just go do that. It's just ten questions. I really appreciate it. I'm not looking for you to kiss my ass. Okay, I'm not looking for you to kiss my ass. I'm looking for honest feedback here and I want to know things you've liked, things you'd haven't liked, everything from the quality of the guests to the length of the episodes. You know, things like that, and there are some spots for you to fill out your own ideas or suggestions for things you'd like to see if the show. We've had a lot already that have all kind of been saying the same thing, and this is something that we've thought about before, which is getting me a cohost. When we have issues like we did these last few weeks with massive amounts of cancelations all at once and scrambling to reschedule episodes, having a cohost that I can converse with and bounce ideas off of and and have that that jumping off point with would help with a lot of that so that I don't have to do an episode like I'm doing today, where it's just me talking,...

...where I can have so because the shows about conversations between but between like mind in individuals. This is this is a show, you know, meant to be about two people like sharing a drink at a bar after work and just sharing their thoughts on different kinds of topics. So having a cohost for the show kind of just makes all the sense in the world and it's been fun flying solo, but I need a cohost for the show. So over the month of August, while we're we're off the air, those will be the two things I'm going to be doing. Is Looking for a producer and looking for a cohost, somebody who I can who I'm comfortable with, who I can I'm much going to be looking for a random person, like I want to be somebody I know, somebody I'm familiar with, who's familiar with me, who I know I can have a good conversation with, and who knows who it'll be. Who knows who it'll be. We're going to we're going to put a post out on social media here next week and that's what we're going to be doing for the month of August. That's not all we're gonna be doing for the month of August, though. I don't want you guys to feel like there's going to be no content for you for four weeks in a row. No, no, trust me, we've got stuff planned. So we're going to be going back to doing our live streams during the week on twitch, which were a lot of fun, and we took a break from the live streams to the month of July because of the booking issues and just trying to get the finale done. But we're going to be doing things a little bit differently. It's not going to be just random stuff three to five days a week, if for Brunch in the basement. No, no, it's going to be actual shows. So the first one that we're doing is our Wednesday show, which is going to be a revival of Mike talks movies, Mike Talks me, and I've teased this a little bit before, but Mike talks movies was a show I did. It was a show blog stardust channel. It was just kind of a project that had going on in the past over over several years now, off and on. So already...

...bringing that bag and that's going to be our Wednesday eleven am show on twitch where we're going to be doing deep dives into movie news and movie topics like you know. We've done that before. We did the fan casting of the xmen and great trilogies and the history of the DC film film industry, things like that. That's going to be Mike talks movies and we're trying, we're planning on doing it as a twohour show, so from eleven to one, eleven am to one PM on Wednesdays is going to be Mike talks movies and I've been working on new graphics for it and it's going to be a lot of fun, I think. And then Fridays we're going to be bringing back the Friday funday show, which is where, if you go into if you're join our discord server, which I highly suggest you do in the link is down the description of this show, but we're going. It's where you can send me links to youtube videos and other stuff on the Internet, you know, movie trailers and video game stuff. You know, we watch the unreal engine five dub playthrough graphics test video, which was amazing. Sometimes they're funny, sometimes there are sads and it was they're fucked up, whatever it might be, but that's a cool one. Hour where we just sit back and just watch cool shit on the Internet and react to it in real time. So that'll be happening Fridays and those are the two programs that we have planned for right now. We used to do a show on Monday's as well. Monday is my day off work and I would kind of like Monday to remain my day off. So for the time being there's nothing planned for Monday, but we'll say things might change. Also, if you're not able to watch the live streams of Mike talks movies, Mike talks movies will also drop on the podcast feed the next day. So if you're not able to watch live on Wednesdays, which is fine, Thursdays will drop the audio into the podcast feed until you can still check out the show every week so that the Friday show doesn't work on audio form. So we're not even a bomit trying that, but anyway. So for Allso, and that starts Wednesday August five, so right when we get in August will be the first episode of Mike Talks...

Movies. Really looking forward to that. But also, you know this, I have other things I work on too. You can also check out my other podcast, mixtape radio, which is the show that I do for the Sin Escape, for Sinn escape media, and go check that out. I drop one usually every Monday. Every once in a while I miss a week, but that's a cool show. It's a short show, like fifteen twenty minute episodes, where I just plug awesome, cool, you know, working class musicians from all over the world. So check that out. And then also I'm still producing and directing the the ultimate schmodown show for the outlaw nation. You can check that out. Wherever I'm still doing stuff. It's just the basement launch podcast just needs a break for a month. That's all it is. And, like I said, we'll be working on bringing on a producer and bringing on a cohost for the show as well to really just help the show grow. And if you have any input you'd like to give us, remember you can always go to the to the survey, go to facebookcomlash basement lounge pot and it's the pin post right the top of our timeline. And then also, you know, it's just it's going to be a busy month for me too because, and I haven't really gone public to public with this, but I started looking for a house of my own. You know, living in MOM's basement for a long time and I'm ready to get on my own. So I'm currently in the early stages of house shopping, which is nerve racking at best, and I'm trying to make this thing grow and be a real formatal asset to my life, which is why I encourage you guys to go like be a members of the Patreon, because you have no idea how much your contributions on the patreon help me. I don't want to shout out the folks who do that right now. You know my mom, of course, but jody McDermott, soul hs, Greg Gray, Joey, Craig Whitney of Church. Thank you, guys, so much for your contributions every month. We absolutely appreciate it and it goes a long way that that little bit that that little bit of money helps us pay for things like the adobe a, the the adobe subscription that we use for the show, because...

...all of our stuff is done through adobe audition. Our videos are done through premieer. I you know, I'm getting better and better with photoshop a little by little. I did all the new artwork and stuff and also do new ones again when we get the new cohost. So you guys do us a huge service by helping us out with our costs for the adobe suite and the more people who join our our Patreon, there's more things that were able to do. So thank you. Who are supporting. If you have you are not supporting, that's fine. Share the show, share the link on social media, help get the word out about the show. I'm really trying to grow this thing and I'm going to be putting a lot of work into how to approach this show for season two and I'm also trying to grow the guests. I want bigger guests, I want bigger batter guests and I love the people who have been on the show. I love my friends and they will continue to be on the show. I will have jody McDermott on again, I will have Andrew Medicitis on again, I will have Claudia Gomez on again and Mike Wells and dusty Harvey and Savannah Webb and Amy James and Ray Jax and I will have them on again and again and again and again and again. Then there are still plenty of local people I haven't had on the show yet just because of scheduling. I am dying to get Karen Jaffe on this show. She and I have such crazy busy, conflicting schedules it just never seems to work, but I'm dying to get her on the show. There's plenty of people in this town that haven't been on yet, or I haven't been on in a while, that I'm ready to get on the microphone. But I also want to continue to grow, to get big guests. You know we got Steve Morris last week week. I can't tell you how much I love the episode with Steve Morris. If you haven't listened to it yet, please go listen to our interview with Steve Morris because it is to die for. And Getting John Roca on next week is huge for me and I can't again, I can't even begin to describe how excited I am to get John Roca on the show. So make sure you guys check out next week as well. But that's going to pretty much do it for this week, guys. That's what we got going on, that's what we got planned and...

I am so excited for what we've for what we've done. I'm so proud of what we've done so far. I'm so happy with the show right now and I have so many ideas of things I want to do to grow everything and I'm ready to start implementing them, and I couldn't do without all of you, so thank you all so much. We'll be back next week with our season finale with John Roca, and man it's going to be a hell of an episode and until then, as always, live well, rock on, take care and bub bye.
