Highland Park

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

***THIS EPISODE WAS RECORDED ON MONDAY, JULY 4TH 2022 AT 4:30PM ET.***

-

We learned of the tragic events in Highland Park, IL in real time at the beginning of our recording session. All other plans for the episode went out the window. These are our unfiltered & unedited thoughts and feelings as they develop in real time from the moment we learned about what had happened.

Hey everyone, this is Mike Shay. Mike Wells and I got together to record this episode on Monday July four, around four PM. At the time, we were not aware of the shooting that took place in Highland Park, Illinois. In fact, you will hear US discover the news of the shooting during this recording. As a result, some of our information is probably outdated by the time this actually gets uploaded. In fact, it's not until towards the end of the recording that we actually begin to learn uh the identity of a person of interest in the shooting. Um Again, by the time you're listening to this, that may have been updated. What you will hear in this episode or a few things. You're going to hear Mike and eyes raw, unfiltered reactions of the news of what happened. You're going to hear our unfiltered thoughts as Comedians. You're going to hear are sad attempts at trying to find light in a dark place, because that's what we do. You're also going to hear audio from several video clips posted by bystanders who were at the event. These clips are pretty shocking and it can be triggering for some people. So, therefore I'm advising listener discretion for this episode. Um, this is not something that we usually have happened. Usually, by the time we comment on one of these, we've had at least some time to sit and think and process on it. Instead, what you're gonna be hearing is Mike and I processing this in real time. So I'm uploading this episode completely unedited, save for just some miscellaneous conversation at the beginning. Um, Um, just kind of talking about our day. Um, it's gonna start off right when we go looking for news to talk about and finding the information about the shooting. Um, there's not a lot I can say for myself or even on behalf of Mike that expresses how we feel any better than what we say in this episode. Again, our thoughts and feelings expressed in this episode are going to be extremely raw, unfiltered, unedited, and you will hear our thoughts develop as the show goes. So, Um, this is gonna be a long one, but it's an important one and you know, on behalf of Mike and for me personally, Um, for what? For what little it's worth. Um, our hearts are with everybody in Highland Park, Illinois. Right now, because what should have been a day of festivity and celebration became a day of horror, and it still is for them. It's not over yet. It's not over until they find the person responsible. So we're uploading this in its rost form and I think it's important because you get to hear us develop our thoughts and feelings in real time, and I think that sometimes is something that gets lost. A lot of times, thoughts and things get deluded with time and instead you get to hear us in the moment. So I won't tell you to enjoy this episode, Um, but I will say that hopefully. Actually, you know what, I don't know what I want from this episode other than just for you to listen to it and experience it in real time with us and draw your own conclusions, and that's really all I have to say. So again, listener discretion is highly advised with this episode. Um, between the subject matter and some of the media clips that we're going to be reacting to, Um, this could be pretty shocking for some people. So Um, here's the episode. Thank you. Everything that happened last week was so fucking crazy this and it's just kind of like, because we haven't had another hearing. Yet there hasn't been, as you then, I'm aware of. So, Um, fuck it, we're going to google news and just seeing what the fun is going on. Um, uh m HMM. Well, there's a shooting in Chicago. Jesus Kay, Oh my God, that's Oh, I take back what I just said.

This was just posted like a half hour ago. Six Dead, more than two dozen hospitalized and mass shooting in Highland Park Fourth of July parade. Shooters saw it. The shooter appeared to have fired a high powered rifle from a rooftop. Police said this doesn't happen here, instead of witness, who ran to safety with his family. It shouldn't happen anywhere. Jesus Christ, there was a fourth of July parade going on. It was Monday morning, so this morning there was the acron thing to Oh, I haven't read a whole lot into that yet. I mean, so I think they shot the kid. I saw. This is like the medical examiner said. He had like sixty distinct wounds. So I don't know how if, first of all, way too much. Oh, yeah, yeah, mind you. Holy Shit. I don't know why they're pointing out, but apparently, from what I've read. From what I've seen, he fired at the police. So they tried to Haim first and didn't do anything. This is from what I read. I'm pulling him up now, so go ahead, Um, and I'm shooting him. Don't get me wrong, you don't shoot somebody sixty times if he's shot at the police. I he didn't have that. The thing is, it was a high speed I know it was a high speed chase. Apparently shot at the cops when he right now the car. He didn't have the gun on period. Right. So obviously they didn't know that. And who's WHO's going to know that right at that point? If he's if he's already shot at the police, you have to assume he still has the gun on him exactly. So I don't know like how much. That's what I've kind of that's what I've read. So Um, like obviously they're going to shoot at him at that point, especially if he's running. Um, sixty times is as eight cops and he got hit sixty times. So that's kind of fucking ridiculous. According to okay, so old black man suffered at least sixty wounds when police officers fairly shot him last week following a high speed chase during which the man fired a gun out the driver's side window. Um Jalen Walker was unarmed at the time he was killed, that a gun was recovered from his car after the shooting. Acron Ohio police chief Stephen Mylett set at a news conference on Sunday when police released large portions of body camp videos from thirteen officers who were at the scene, prompting more questions about Walker's death. On Um. According to Milet, eight police officers fired their weapons following the vehicle pursuit on in a short foot shase, believing walker was turning towards them, reaching towards his waist and moving into a firing position. When a medical examiner's report found Walker suffered at least sixty wounds. The medical examiner is still working to determine how many times he was shot and which wounds are entrance wounds and which are exit wounds. Holy Sh it, um yeah, I haven't watched any video or anything like that. I've seen the very end of the video where they shoot at him. Is it just like cops unloading? I mean, if he shot at him, it's kind of like it's one of those things. It's like, did they overdo it? Yes, Um, but at that point they were kind of if he if he shot at him, they have no choice, you really? Like it's like and then if, if he shot at him, he's running away and they think he's turning a shoot. That's how that's going to play. If he's already shot at him, they, like, I said, he they have to assume he's got the gun on him. Yeah, UM, there's no way to not assume that. Yeah, and, like am I thinking, like it's very I mean, like I'm very liberal, but like that's kind of how that's going to play out regard. Like any person that situation, like, I don't really care who you are, liberal, Conservative, left, right, you're going to play that same situation in your head and do the exact same thing. What was the same thing about when the when the guy shot at the store in Buffalo, like the only reason he got taken out peacefully it was because he didn't have his gun up. Basically, he you know, he, you know, if he had had his gun up, they would have taken him out instantly. That's what happened in the bald it. They took him out. He tried to fire and he raised his gun and they were like no. And, like I said, if this guy, and again, as I don't know this is this is the the claim is that he opened fire at them and they found a gun in the car. Um. It doesn't say it well or not. I mean they have to do tests on the gun to see if it had been fired or all that. But but if he shot at the cops, then that mean that's kind of like your I'll be the first one too to jump to someone's defense against, you know, bullshit cop killings and all that, and in a heartbeat. But it's the only thing is, it's like is it's sixty shots though. Oh yeah, that's the absurdity that you're overkill. Fuck, but when you've got that many cops chasing the guy, all of them are going to react. And that's the thing. Is like people don't realize if you, if...

...you legit shot at them, it's kind of like, okay, like, I don't know what else you anybody in that situation would be like, I don't want to die. Yeah, like, and that's the that's the thing. That's kind of like shot him, so be it. Like the kind of I don't like it when anyone dies. But given the situation, if he shot at him, that's what happens. Kind of yeah, it sucks that that happened at all. But you know, I don't know. I said, I haven't seen the body, I haven't seen the BODYCAM footage. Um, I haven't read a whole lot into it up until now. So Um, yeah, no, it, it's it's. Yeah, this is the world. We live it. Well, well, we live it. And then I was making fun of shooting and then there's apparently there was one. Yeah, out a whole lot of it. There's not a whole lot of Info because it was like just a couple of hours ago. That's the thing is, I haven't been on like I was at work today and but just I was dealing with ship and I didn't spend a lot of time like on twitter or facebook at all today. So I didn't hear about this, though. I pulled up Google news right here. They said they recovered the rifle, that the shooter appeared to be eighteen to twenty years old, wearing white, wearing a blue t shirt. Um, but they're still looking for him. I guess. Hold on what you got. You can hear the shoot Oh, here, I've got a let's go on twitter. Okay, I've got I've got a video here. Um, if you want to put your headphones off. So, Um, yeah, it is Highland Park, fourth of July parade disrupted by gunfire. So you couldn't hear the shots on that one, but people are running. Go to twitter, go to twitter. Um, Jesus Christ in the actual fun just land park. Oh Dude, there's some good, I mean not good. You can hear it, but just like, Um, it should be under trending and hit video videos. There's wine. Yeah, m Oh my God, is God. I can't believe that record. I did call it. I just recorded these kids like ten. I didn't recall that. I can't believe that. There's more. Yeah, Um, that before. Keep on going down this one, this one here. Yeah, I think that was the one. I was just watching that. What happened? O, Holy Shit. And the sad part is like you can't even tell most people right now. It's like is that fireworks? For like exactly? There's that hesitation because they nobody knows what that is. I'm still shooting. Jesus fucking Christ it's just Jesus fucking Christ man, happy fucking fourth of July. Everybody. I was like, joke, because there hadn't been one. It was it was nice. It was...

...just like wow, okay, I missed everything going on. Cool, kind of a slow news things since last since last Tuesday when we last met. and M M great. Yeah, I mean that's the honestly, from a studious perspective, that's like the perfect set up. Yeah, he's on a rooftop of a parade and if he's just looking to cause as much devastation as possible, but it's just like and just fuck that, America. Yeah, this is this is this is why people are saying like Oh, like they didn't want to celebrate the fourth on all that, because it's just like this is why. Well, and here's so goddamn. This is this is actually pretty real. Um, so because of like it's the summer and all that stuff, and code's kindly find out, even though covide numbers have spiked up recently. But like we're so far everything is kind of someone going back to normal. kind of we're kind of, all things considered, kind of in the best place we've been in a couple of years. Um, like I just kept on thinking in my head when, because Melissa had to go to Kroger real fast to get a couple of things, I can't remember what for, and I was like I heard an ambulance drive by. Well, not something dry place, aimance or whatever. I was like hen like what if that was just the shooting right now? That's literally a pop to my head and it was that and my crow like I was like, I said, God damn, this is like the wherever we live into whether that's what's been happening ever since everything, since things started getting back to normal, but that's kind of we've been hearing about these big because when, when everybody was just stay on the fucking side, these weren't happening. Yeah, now that ship's opening back up again and we're gathering in places and all that. It's it's it's back to fucking business as usual with this ship and it's I think it's amped up more than ever because there are people are stuck inside forever. Tensions are and in general tensions are at an all time high. Yeah, politically and socially tensions are at an all time fucking high right now, and the thing is, I've thought about that a lot lately. Is like whenever she leaves. It's like I shouldn't think like that. No, but that's like what? But but also like well, how is how was she supposed to feel? Yeah, with everything going on, how else are you supposed to feel? So many people I know are pulling their kids out of schools and and and homeschooling, and people in the states, people in Canada. I just text Melissa this. That's what I said, as like another fucking shooting, and she's like seriously, where? It's like Chicago, highland park around the fortunately right. It's like, are you serious? I'm sure lots of kids are there. How are you doing this? I don't understand. The shooters on the rooftop. Yeah, they said they found the gun and haven't found him. They're not going to find it him anytime soon anyways. Oh, I don't know. I mean the Internet is a crazy thing. Remember how they found the Boston marathon bombers? Put It on Reddit. Put It on fucking Reddit. They had those guys in like a day. There's gotta be the video of the person because of the parade. Therefore, somebody's got to see something. Well, I mean the one video we watched it was this ten year old kid. I can't believe I got that on video. I mean everybody was filming ship. Somebody got something, uh m HM, and that that's it's so annoying. Not Annoying. It's not right to even think that that's going to happen. But like I've thought about that a lot when my wife's this, because we've had a kid in now or whatever, but I've thought about that a lot to where I'm like Shit, because it's happened like every well, hasn't happen in the past like two weeks, I feel like. But literally it just happens, but one after the other, after the other after the other. You mentioned the other you mentioned like yeah, they could have thought it was fireworks. Like last night here, everyone around me was setting off fireworks. I there was a couple of times I thought something hit my house because they were setting them off so big and so close to my house. My walls were shaking. Somebody could have been shooting and I never would have known. I never would have known, especially being here in Dayton where we had one just before the pandemic started. MM HM. So, I mean we're finding out about this in real time, folks. So it's like I'm just now processing this ship. I just I want to see if I that just insane to me. That's this is absolutely fucking insane. As a white male eighteen to twenty. Yeah, thing he was running a blue shirt. Ah, just so, yeah, I'm done.

I'm done with this country. I'm done. Like, uh, all right, let's go to CNN. Here live updates as of ten minutes ago. Um, yeah, somebody, one of the witnesses, said that they didn't realize anything was happening. Fully, saw someone with a wound on his head. He said it just sounded like firecrackers going off. Nobody really knew what was going on. There's still as of thirty minutes ago, they're still searching for the shooter. Message something. Um, they've put up a flight restriction. The the Federal Aviation Administration, is banned aircraft from frying a flying over highland park. Yeah, this so I did earlier, and I feel bad this for July. If you listen closer, you can hear the sound of an ambulance running me because somebody just lost their fingers and now somebody, my friend Hannah is like in Chicago. Is actually a loss of lives. Yeah, this marks the eight mass shooting in the US this year. Um, they've got investigators, are coming through social media. Um, forensics already has a hold of the gun is analyzing it. They haven't said what kind of weapon is that. It was a high powered rifle, which mean could be a lot of things. Um, just Jesus Christ. Yeah, another one saying like we thought it was fireworks. Everybody's gonn think it's fireworks. Nobody's not gonna think it's fireworks. Like why? Why would you think otherwise? Exactly? People have been setting off fireworks for three days, two or three days, since, since July, since since, honestly, since Thursday and since the third night we've been we've been hearing it since it has like two days, two or three. I've been hearing him around this area for pretty much all the month of June. But I think it was just people just like practicing, for which I'm like you light a, fusing it, whatever, but considering how many it sounded like almost hit my house, keep practicing. Um. But yeah, if you're gonna Fourth of July parade, what else would you think it was? Mm Hmm, mm hmmm, I don't I don't even know. One Tonight Chicago White Sox will host the night's game, but scheduled fireworks have been canceled. Well, yeah, no, ship, I wouldn't even I wouldn't have the game. I'M NOT gonna lie. I would postpone the game. I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED THEY END UP postponing the game. Allow that ship happens. They're really something out at first, and then when it gets closer and closer, they side to cancel it. Um Jesus. At the same time it's like, yeah, you want to cancel, but you want some sense of normalcy. Yeah, since they found I'm getting live updates on the end, and they found a ladder in the alley behind the building that they think he used to get on the roof. MHM's five of the people dead and we're adults. Oh, ship, they don't have information on this. They haven't confirmed anything about the sixth victim because that person died at the hospital. Nothing more American than that, though, let's be honest. Really on brand what but what the ship show the country is going? Yeah, my friend Kylie said that's one. Like, I know it's dark and I know it's fucked up to think and say, but like I'm amazed I can still be shocked. Honestly, like I'm amazed that I'm as as caught off guard as I am right now. It's like I shouldn't even be in the least bit shocked, but I still am. Like all the days you'd feel like today would not be you know what I mean. Yeah, like this is this is, this is chief Patriot Day, like like everyone who's hardcore Murica like you, think this would be the but there's no rhyme or reason that these fucking psychopaths. So now and, like I said, considering everything that's going on with Roevie Wade and in the January six and all that, it's like, like I said, tensions are as high as they've ever been politically and socially. I wonder how many shots were fired and I wonder how long it was firing flux. It doesn't sound like goes that long. Yeah, it doesn't sound like it was like like it wasn't...

...like a you know, if it was an assault rifle, would have been like it sounds like it was almost almost like slow paced, like high powered, but kind of slow paced. Yah, I don't I don't know. I'm not a gun guy. It sounds like an how's the Air Fifteen? I really it's fast enough because either how fast it sounded, Um was as a semi automatic with probably bump stock. Um, how fast it sounded, it wasn't a it wasn't an assault rifle. Now it wasn't assault rifle because it's just as high powered rifle. So M Yeah, it's about twenty five miles north of Chicago. It says eighteen and twenty year old white man, black hair and a small build. The only way this is good is if it's Kyle Rittenhouse. That's the only thing I can think of. What a fucking piece of sh it. Um, I see, I don't. Oh my God. I was just literally like thank God we haven't had any match shooting, because I was like, let's just see what's going on in the news. WHAT HAVE WE MISSED? Well, apparently we missed the fucking shooting right, and that guy's probably a pro lifer. Oh, yeah, of course. Yeah, I just I can't fathom. Normally, when something like this happens, we've had a day or two to think about it and it's like we're we literally found out about this as we sat down, right. Yeah, Huh, interesting and like no, but nobody else I know, like I'm just from through facebook right now, like no one's outed works out doing so. No one knows about this yet. He said it just happened, you know, like a couple of hours ago, it sounds like, and everyone's outdoing ship. It's that they got the day off. It's nice out. I'm constantly updating my my temporary roommates at King's island with their kids today. Oh yeah, so this is a good one. Next time anyone talks about arming teachers, remember that today a guy waltzed into downtown highland park, shot more than thirty people and then waltz out. An entire armed police all around couldn't stop him. Heck, they still can't even find him. Yeah, and I was like, Goddamn. Hm, I will say I'm seeing a bunch of stuff on twitter right now, people saying like this is typical Chicago. This is not typical Chicago. Fuck you, this is not typical Chicago. I Love Chicago. Chicago is a wonderful city and it's one of my favorite places in the country. This is not typical Chicago. This is a psychopath who decided you wanted people to die. This has happened everywhere, not just Chicago. This has happened. It's just yeah, I'm trying to listen. Oh, that's sickly, we just listen to you waiting to see if nothing else is updated. You don't see M scrolling through twitter. Oh God, this. If there are less doors, shooting at Highland Park and fourth of July proe couldn't have could have been prevent Ted. Curis probably probably. Um, here's another. I don't know if this isn't. I don't know how good this video is. It's another one that just popped up on twitter. Um, and you can just see like people running in one direction away from it and cops and vests running towards it. Yeah, Jesus, nothing doesn't mean like a July fourth mass shooting. M, I can't...

...fucking yeah, it's this one here. I was like, what is that? That's that's the echoes of the guard shooting. Well, now, at first I thought that's a drum in the background. Now, yeah, back it up. Yeah, Hey, you can hear it. Back the yeah, I don't fucking get this. Wort like, like it makes me afraid to go to anything like this. Like I like, I thought about the red when we went to the reds game for Father's Day, I thought about that. I mean they check everybody, but it's kind of like even up to that, like walking into that place is like it's Oh my God, Um, I think this is from the first responders or something. It's like an interview FBI. That's call FBI. Regular updates are also being posted on the city website at www dot city hp I l dot com. Thank you, corner. My name is Jennifer bannock. Bravo, Alphae November echo kilo. I'm calling with an update on the corners investigation. So far there are five dead on the scene. Those decedents have been identified and we are working on notification for those families. There is one additional decedent that was taken to a local hospital. Thank you. All right. Again, very active investigation. Uh, in try to answer what questions we can without negatively impacting the investigation, I can tell you our investigators, in collaboration with the FBI and our federal partners, are making significant progress. So we're moving forward, uh, and that's where we're at right now. Any offer numbers or any effective where the gun is certainly being heavily investigated by the A T F, our federal partners, and we are working on that aspect. Can you tell us what's kind of gonna Right now? What we're saying is it's a high powered rifle. Beyond that I'm not going to go into much more. Eventually we will, when we feel comfortable releasing that information without twitter information and dumpster I saw that. Yeah, I saw that. That's just cuting me with the press if he's if he's being that reserved about what kind of gun it is. It's an a r fifteen, because he knows. The minute he says a r fifteen, let's gonna Spiral. That's what's is. They're trying to keep control of the investigation, which I I totally get. They have to know. They half. I mean I totally understand, you know, like I fully respect the process of an investigation. They're giving out what they can feel comfortable giving out right now. But Um, Oh, fuck you, Ted Crew Twenty about twenty minutes ago. The Second Amendment is not about hunting, it's not about skeet shooting, it's not about the recreational use of firearms. The Second Amendment is about the fundamental right to defend your life and defend your family. What a what a and this is you know, this shooting happened at Um. Trying to figure out like when this actually happened. So two and a half hours ago, so like one thirty in the afternoon. Giver Take Um at the time that we're recording this. He sent that tweet twenty minutes ago. You tone deaf piece of ship. There's so much ship I I don't even know like how to feel right now other than just angry. Yeah, that's all you can feel. Yeah, I'm just I'm so fucking angry I just I don't I want to see. I anybody else is posting anything on facebook. We literally just found out about this. Yeah, and this was two hours happened to it. And Dude, there's nothing. I even nothing. No one and nothing is that I know. I'm friends...

...on facebook has posted about this yet, or on twitter, for that matter. Like nobody I follow on twitter has posted anything about it either. Last week tonight posted something about it twenty minutes ago, but no, nothing. That's a good tweet by Mark Norman. What is it? The hot dog is a perfect symbol for America. It's enjoyable until you find out how it's made. Yeah, uh, so, I brought up to the point. Mass shootings are so common now that Google pins out on the map like it's a bear king or speedway. Dude, I'm looking at on the Google. It says affected area and there's a little red exclamation point right on the map. Yeah, yeah, no one has supposed to anything on whether I follow or friends with on her at all about this because, like we said, everyone's out, everyone's out doing ship which again it's fourth of July. Um, wow, mm hmmm, I don't know who my talk is, but stranger things about to blow them up, because there is like a scene and apparent. Yeah, I'm trying to bring some positive I know, I'm with you. I'm trying to come up with something here. Um, I'm just scrolling and scrolling and trying to find like this is so fucking crazy. Yeah, Oh, there's this. This picture is just brutal. See this one, the COP walking down the sidewalk with just the stuff scattered. It's just like but as I like, and I sorry, this whole thing off as a cops shooting. What's his face? Yeah, sorry, that's very disrespectful, but this is all news. Yeah, like we're literally finding out about this as we're recording. Cops are also human beings too, so it's kind of like because, I mean, I have a bunch of friends that are cops, so they know my stance on ship too. We talk about it, and you gotta figure that cop probably was just like, Oh, I'm just gonna be patrolling a parade today. Well, no, only that, most of them don't sign up to like Ye, deal with that most. Most cops go like their whole careers, that ever firing their weapon, yeah, or or being fired at, let alone and having to facedown because at the same time he knows the minute something like this starts, he's got to go running into it. He could have just as easily been shot and killed. So there's that realization, like I had to go running towards this guy and could have easily taken me out. And also just because he's walking on the sidewalking, there's just kids, tricycles everywhere and toys and let's just be a happy celebration's like, and that'll just just that. Yeah, just like there are cops everywhere and it still happened. Yeah, it's like Samon Dayton, how people died under thirty seconds. They were right there. They were right fucking there. But that's how I mean. You had that gun. was monitors fuck, and that just goes to show you how deadly it was. Um so white sox have said, after consulting with the with the MLB, tonight's scheduled game against Minnesota will take place at seven, ten PM. However, postgame fireworks celebration is canceled. A moment of silence will be held before the start of tonight's game, and everyone is currently blowing up their twitter saying can we get refunds for our tickets? Nobody wants to go. No, we wants to go the P if they have the game, I guarantee it, they'll get refunds back. Oh H, and if they don't, then the white sox can go funk themselves. I think their ownership is pretty good, I would imagine. So, I mean, yeah, because they could. I mean because, you know, from an objective standpoint, the press on that would be pretty bad too. Absolute. Okay, they're all adults that died so far, but there's also like, you know, thirty...

...others that were hit. And Yeah, I just Jesus Christ, I don't understand this world. I just I mean, I look, I'm an angry dude, but I'm not a violent dude. I don't I don't care for guns personally, Um, I'm not a big Fan of violence in general. It I don't even I don't like. I I got a short temper, but I don't even like yelling. I don't like listening to people yell at each other and the idea of someone, for whatever reason, whatever is going on in their head or not, whatever it is, the idea that someone could just arbitrarily empty clip after clip into a crowd, a group of p e Bowl and just not care who he hits and just try to hit as many people as he possibly can and have the mental fortitude to know that what he did is wrong, because that's why he ran, because he knew it. He knew what he did was wrong. That's why he ran and it I just I can't, I can't. That's one of those I'm like, I'll never understand that. I'll never understand how someone can do something like that. It it just doesn't. It doesn't make sense to me. I want to start crying. I'm Um, to me it's like to do that you have to be off the edge, clearly. Oh yeah, there's some mental aspect of it, but I think most of them have been radicalized to begin with on some level. Um, in order to do to commit a mass shooting, you have to be radicalized in some way, like not by like a terrorist organization or anything like that, but it could be radicalized by anything. Yeah, UM, yeah, there's no, there's no, there's no logic to it, and that's I think. That's what I think. That's why it bothers me so much, is because there is no logical I'm very much a person of like like. I like things to make sense, and it does and this doesn't make sense. It's just weird because it wanted at my job. Like I often think about it. It's like like like if I just feel a certain way, as that where this person comes in with a gun type thing. I think about that in my head a lot, and that you shouldn't feel that way period at all. Like this is a parade. Yeah, like you're Suppsa have fun at a parade. Love Parades. I love parades. Don't like parades. I love parades. I don't know. I don't know why, but like growing up, I love parades and I still love parades because I lived by one. I lived in center that had the fourth July parade and it literally like when I lived there for like three years, that literally blocked everything that day and I was like I just gotta go somewhere I see. That was growing growing up. Um, my mom and I would go when we were in North Canton. We'd go to the North Canon Fourth of July parade every summer and it was cool because we'd get up early and we was where we would always sit was in front of my elementary school on the lawn. Um. So we would always get up early and like would camp out there and then would get up in time for the parade to start. Um, I loved, I always love going to parade, parades. I love parades so much. Um. So that, but, but, but, yeah, but even if you don't like parades, like that's the whole point of a parade is fun and celebration and just you know, whether it's a pride parade of Fourth of July parade, of Thanksgiving parade, parades are meant to be fun. It's one of those things that you'll never but like that's like in my line of work, like like today, I went into work and and stuff wasn't working right at the at the TV station I work at. I work at the local PBS station, and stuff wasn't working right, but there was a reason why stuff wasn't working right and it was just a matter of figuring it out. Figuring it out now. That's the kind of person I am. That's why I do that's why I'm in the line of work that I'm in. So I so that stuff. That's just the kind of person I am, and so that stuff like this bothers me so much. A because it's horrible and be because there's no real rhyme or reason. Too never remember that and when you find out why they did it, it's all like it's usually just because, yeah, it's serious, like you just hate people. They wanted to. I think the one's always bugged me the most is not the most, but it's very interesting is the Las Vegas one. Oh, yeah, because they do kill themself and I didn't leave anything there. Is the reason. A lot...

...of people got a lot of people got hurt. That's the thing. How many people got died from? Like fifty something something like that. It was a lot. It was a lot. It was stuck in people, but now that so, we didn't do anything on Sandy Hook, okay, and then all children, mind you, and I think what? Two teachers? Oh, UM, Sandy Hook, yeah, yeah, Um. And then you had like fifty something plus people die in Vegas and you're like that's a lot. Yeah, I mean that's like not children, obviously children things, but just people, people, people on a concert. You know, there's there's, there's, there's two events like this that I think about as being kind of when you think about this, and I don't know what else to call it other than just this, just this pandemic of mass shootings that we've had in the last however many years, the two incidents I always think back to is the ones that I remember being like where a lot of this trend started. Was Um, when it was like it was in Paris and there was this band called the eagles of death metal. We're playing a concert in Paris and someone started opening fire in one of their concerts. Because I had just moved up here to dat and when that happened and I was going to a concert like a week later up in Cleveland and I almost didn't go. I'm glad I went. I had a great time. It was a lot of fun. But and then the other was not long after that, was when Um Ariana Grande was doing a concert in London and those guys bombed the place. And it's like those two incidents happened fairly close to each other and about six years ago, and ever since then it seems like there's just one of these, the ones I remember the most, the ones I always remember. Columbine. Oh, I mean, you know, in the grand scheme of time, the one that because I think it was like but then nothing really happened after combined for a really long time. I don't I don't think, not that I not that I know of. But this was before social media and all that ship. So, UM, Sandy Hook. Yeah, and then the one in Florida, the Oh um, the nightclub shooting. No, that's cool one. Oh that, yeah, those are the ones. I'm nightclub shooting, paulse remember pulse because, Um, just because I kind of started getting in the comedy and somebody was like, I remember the meeting. So somebody was like, don't do any jokes about the pulse nightclub please, and I was like yeah, like you shouldn't mind. You I know that I know that there's a lot of we'll call them comedians, who like to push the envelope and see, but but it's like that's not even funny, that's just dark. Yeah, and then, obviously the ones also affected me, and the most the one here. Like I actually I called off work the next day because I was like I was distraught, like I didn't like I I woke up for whatever reason, I was off Saturday, I think Saturday or whatever, and I woke up to all those messages about people like wondering if if I was down there or whatever, which I wasn't, luckily. I think I've told you to sorry about how that worked. Um, but uh, and I still like I didn't want to go on the work next day because, like my mind wasn't focused on anything like that. Like I wanted to be there just to help out the community as like much as you could, because, like, I spend literally two or three nights a week down there because of the club, and I'm always hanging out there and all that type of stuff. I don't necessarily going to that bar hardly ever, but or on district it's kind of my second home in a way. It's so it hit really. I mean it hit close work on district is is. I mean it's a it's a Dayton landmarketing of itself. It's a street where all of the city goes two socialize and have fun. It's every other door is a bar or restaurant and their shops and Um uh, studios and and you know, all kinds of stuff down there. And while he's was down there and Um, I think I've told you this. For me, the when the shooting here in Dayton happened, I had just gotten I was going camp, I was on vacation, I was going camp. Was My my yearly camping trip and I had just gotten to the campsite the night it happened. So I didn't know about it. I was up in the mountains, Um, and I woke up the morning after, like six am, to a billion text messages and voicemails and facebook messages from evil...

...seeing if I was okay because they knew I was in Dayton. They just didn't know that I was camping. Um, because I have like friends from down south, from when I need to live down south, and people ask me if I did it. Um, you do have resting mass shooter face. If I can rip off your joke, Um, but I called my mom. Yeah, I know, I called my mom because, so, the bar that this happened at, which was ned peppers. Um. So my friend Hailey is a bartender there at home, at Ned peppers and hole in the wall, which are, for those who don't know, ned peppers and hole in the wall are basically two bars that are run by the same people. Um, they all basically split their shifts between those two bars. Um. But so she she was working there that night. A girl I was seeing at the time was there that night, and my brother and his girlfriend at the time were living across the street up above like feathers. So when I found out what the bar was, I, you know, called my mom and she was like everyone's okay as far as my brother and his girlfriend went, and then I was just kind of like I almost packed up and drove back to Dayton that night. I was basically just waiting to find out like if everyone I knew, like if anyone I knew, had been hurt, which, thankfully, nobody I knew personally was hurt. I cannot say the same for some of my other friends who knew people who were there. Um, but while I was there camping, at the camping event that I was at, there were a lot of people there from like the Dayton kind of Miami Valley area in general. So they were holding support groups that all the different tents and stuff like every night and people were packing up and going home. And it is the one thing, one funny story I remember about this. You try to turn something look, we got it's our job to find lightning in a dark place. Ben was there. Yeah, right, super wasted to the point to where he like doesn't he's so drunk. He's leaving, getting in a cab or uber to go somewhere else and sees the cops and the ambulances and joking says that it's one what just fucking someone just gets shot or something like ship. Didn't realize it. Then it happened and then until like the next morning he was that drunk. He was so drunk he didn't he was in New York on this strict he didn't know a mass shooting happened. That's how you know how drunk he has. PRETTY DRUNK TO BE. Like, I was still working because I was still working at the news station at the time and Um, one of our photogs just happened to live down around there and was like getting home for the night when the ship started happening. So he, being the pro professional camera guy that he is, basically got his camera out and was just trying to get which he couldn't see anything at that point, but it was like he was so like we really had someone like on the scene because he just happened to be down there. Um, my brother and his girlfriend worked for another station in town time. I won't say which station, but they were telling me how like they were getting calls from their boss is like hey, we need you guys to come in there, like uh, we can't. Well, why not? We kind of live there, we're not leaving our apartment, UM, which they were like, oh, okay, never mind. Um. And then what was real, what was also problematic, was so all all the all the national news teams and stuff came to town, obviously, Um, which a made it problematic for the locals. So they were taking up so much of the street. None of the local news people can get down there. The the national news teams were basically paying people for exclusivity to their interviews, so we couldn't get interviews with people and then when all the national people left, they left the place, they left the whole stream trash. They left, they left, they left Fifth Street trashed. So it was like cool, we just had this shooting and then you guys came in here and basically strong armed the whole area. Part, it's the wild part. I'm pulling up any any late. Um, the the sad part about the whole thing. It was like national news had to side between Texas that day or Dayton, because you remember that ship. Oh, that's right, because there was the one in Texas that night. Well, not the night, it was at four PM in the afternoon. Yeah, that day of whatever. Um, update from CNN. Shelter in place. Order remains an effect in highland park until further notice. Wait, what did you just CNN saying? Highland Park shelter in place. Order is remaining an effect until further notice. Basically, there's telling everybody because the dude's still out there. Yeah, they're like, they're like, don't go out of here and stay inside. Wherever you're at, stay there. Um, so I'm not gonna say that they're listening. Like how many people are at which hospital? I'm not gonna read...

...that offense. But they but they've got like I think that's they've set up a perimeter, however far out, Um, oh Green Bay road, to Laurel Avenue, to St John's, to El employ I mean, I don't know any of these streets, obviously, but Jesus fucking what, somebody, in the immediate aftermath of a deadly mass shooting, while the shooter is at large, Um Illinois G ope nominee for governor, Darren Bailey, goes on facebook top of prayers and for families and police voices frustrations about the canceled parade, about I canceled prey, and it says, let's move on and celebrate freedom. Oh, get fine, now, get fucked. Jesus, Oh, Jesus Christ, but all silent, park detect and I don't know if that's real, though. I also but I I also think, and I mean this, I mean this sincerely, not as an excuse but as an explanation, I think a lot of these people don't know about this one because it's the fourth of July, because they're outdoing shit and, you know, with the family. Whenever I think a lot of these dumbass, insensitive things people are saying I genuinely think they don't know about it. Might not unknown. I know I genuinely think Ted Cruz didn't know. Hey, he is the he is known for sticking his head in the sand about ship. And again, it's the fourth of July. Nobody's out on there. People, they're people, they're not, but they're not like, you know, really like looking through social media. They're looking at the weather or using Google maps to get somewhere, but they're at at barbecues, they're out at parks, they're doing they're doing shit. Yeah, you know, people are kings, like I said, kings. People are the king's island and stuff and they're they're after doing stuff. So I I like I said, it's not an excuse, but it is an explanation. I think a lot of these people just genuinely don't know this is going or this is when this happened. Yet Um, the president has said something, just released a statement, so I'm sure now people are gonna catch start realizing it. Um, but Jesus Christy, I just can't fathom any of it right now. I don't want it. That's it was supposed to be a good day for people. It was supposed to it's it's almost going to come to the point where, like, at some point in your life, you're gonna live in a place that has been part of a mass shooting, have been involved in one. That's what's boiling down to. It's almost like inevitably, that inevitably, you can't avoid it. M But we're one of the very few countries, the only countries to continue, that has this problem. Nobody else really has this problem. Um, are you as soon as any other videos have popped up or any other news? Nothing new. Um. We not only that, because they were saying this after the Valdi school shooting last month that, like so many of these kids that were that have gone through these school shootings, are going to grow up to be politicians. And what's his face? The one kid from Parkland, Parkland, Parkland. Yes, Um, I'm guarantee he's going to run for us for a seat. Yeah, I can't. Do you know who I'm talking I can't think that I know you're talking about. I cannot think of what his name is. He's going to eventually run, for sure. I would be shocked if he did it, because they're gonna WE'RE gonna see a lot of we're gonna see a lot of people like AOC in the next in the next couple of years, because a lot of these kids would have been through. These are are getting to that age where they can start running ship. Um, they're just pissed. Yeah, and they've they this happened to them and they've grown up all this time and wants to continue to happen and nothing to happen, nothing to get changed. Well, now they're going to get to the point where they're going to be the ones who are going to be able to make that change happen. It's like it's going to happen. It's inevitable. It's just a matter of when. At this point it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. Yes, we would like it to happen now, sooner rather than later, Um, but it's gonna Happen. I'm still like in shock right now. No, I'm I'm I'm just it's a weird time to do a podcast, I know, like I just I feel like I feel so bad. Not even like, Oh, there hasn't been a mass shooting, so there's really nothing. N N pull up, you go to Google News and you're like, I know it was the minute. I the minute I saw that, my stomach sank. I was like, Mike, you're just gonna feel like an asshole here. I mean Jesus Um. But again for the same reason,...

...we didn't know. fucking no way. I was cleaning ship up when we were doing ship. I was at work doing ship. Just again, it wasn't on my mind, admitted admittedly, when I was getting ready to leave work, I was like, oh no, Mike's coming over. What the Fund are we even going to talk about? I was saying the same thing. I was listening to like an old podcast. Was Wait, I was listening to one with Jessie nut for whatever reason, I was mowing the grass. Um, because like, yeah, I don't know why, it just it just randomly popped up, because the one podcast I listened to, Um, they don't, didn't have anything new out, because I listened to lock on the reds yes, and because it's fortunly they haven't. I've listened to the last like one. So Um, there's nothing new. They haven't. Hanimal going out. So I was like it randomly popped on. One in ours was like listen to this and it was adjusting that one was like and then like it was about talking about Chadwick. H Um, Jesse was right about bitcoin. Remember that. I do remember that. I was like, Damn, you fucking dead on that one, price wise, um, but yeah, that's all. I like and I was like, Huh, there's the thing about and like I want to talk about Chadwick and then the fucking that. Yeah, God Damn, you get Jesse back on here. I know like Jesse. I know. I just need to get we need to get vander on here, since apparently we're the three Mike Dude. That's we just we just need to do it. We just need to just like book a show at while he's and just have the three mic show, the three Mike Show, Mike's on, Mike's on Mike's. It sounds like, sounds sexy. Um, I'm trying so hard to just find something to laugh at right now. I would read my tweets, but I don't. I don't wanna know. Um, I'm very interested. What's going on? Yeah, Oh, Kyle Rittenhouse is trending because of this shucker. What's the little TWAT got to say? No, I mean, I'm just assuming people are saying it because see, like and in case in point right, like right now. So what I am seeing on a lot of facebook right now is people at like people I know at Fourth of July parades, posting about how great time they're having at this parade and it's just like so, yeah, they don't know. No, they don't. Graphic photo warning, am I fuck? Oh my God, that's a graphic warning. That's a graphic one. Yeah, like, let me, let me see it's not graphic. I mean, I mean, Jesus, it's not as bad as I thought it was gonna be. It's still like just again. It just kind of it makes it more real. MM HMMM. I don't even know what they think. I don't I don't even know. Well, they're even talking aboot something like so USA Today was talking about how we're kind of they just posted the thing and talking about how people are saying like Oh, blah, blah, blah, typical, typical Chicago shows so, you know, you know, probably broke broke gass areas toff like that, and and this is this is a really nice area like like that. That, like it's a very rich area. They said that the median household income is almost a hundred and fifty thousand. Three quarters of residents over twenty five have bachelor's degree. You're higher like this is a fairly well off areas. No, this is not your you know, quote unquote, troubled inner city, the bullshit. This was a really, you know, upper middle, upper middle class, upper class suburban area outside of Chicago. Um, not saying that makes it better or worse, but it's just it's just people who are already coming out with this idea of like, oh well, that's the Chicago for you. First of all, fuck you know, it's not anyway. Second of all, shut the funk up. Who Cares? Who? Who fucking cares? People died? Who fucking cares? Chicago and Texas where you're going to kill your kids? Yeah, I'm a Dick when it comes that. If they like to pull up that, I was like, oh, that's funny. They got these texts where you go to try to hide. It's this local just post. There's these families that are hiding out in a like a little department store and they gave all these kids like papers and markers and ship to just color on while they're hiding in the store because they're they basically, if you're in...

...somewhere, don't leave. Yeah, I mean what the guys still loose? YEA, so they've they've got, yeah, they're. I mean like, I wouldn't want to leave. They got those. One of those who got playto they got. That's honest to God. The Dude had a different outfit, guarantee. Oh, I'm sure he changed out completely. His goal was not to get caught. Yeah, that's why he left the gun. It was going to be unmarked. Oh, I'm still because they were asking in that interview I played part of earlier. Like they were asking. I'm like, you know, do you know? I think he's like, he's like, we're still investigating the gun. I guarantee this serial number has been scraped off. Oh, for sure. The Guy knows what he's too. Yeah, he was probably wearing gloves. He guarantee ditched the clothes. He probably had clothes underneath his clothes or some bullshit. He yeah, no, he, he. He knew what he was doing and he did not want to get caught. Played glasses. Yeah. Well, and all they have for him as far as the description is the most nondescription ever. He's eighteen to twenty white guy who's kind of skinny. Okay, MG K no, ship. Um, they're starting to release the identities of some of the victims. Um, so one of them supposed to anything at Um. Yeah, I haven't seen anything else yet. Um, Nicholas Toledo was one of the victims as an older gentleman. Um, seventy eight year old grandfather. Jesus. Yeah, there's just this shot of the street and it's just abandoned bikes and strollers and chairs and Damn it's here. UH, ship, because they may know this child. Apparently the kid just separated from their parents. Oh, ship, they're posting on the facebook, I mean on twitter. Fun, Fun, Fun, fun. Fuck. Oh, I'd be I'd be freaking out kid or parents. I'd be losing my fucking mind right now. Yeah, absolutely. M M, I don't know what the funk this is. Oh, that's from months ago. Okay, everything possible. So apparently, apparently back in April, a bunch of Um, like Neo Nazi, anti Semitic flyers were found around that area. Really, yeah, as a back in April, though, I don't know. I don't connect that that would be, but at this point anything it's possible. It was a highly, highly Jewish community. Oh, is it? Yeah, the flyers. The flyers said things like Antifa is Jewish, melissia militia, if it's the same person, right, Jesus. It was found with a bunch of like let's go, let's go, brandon flyers that literally said every single aspect of the Biden administration is Jewish. Um, I don't know how true that. The irony of this is like long black hair and slight build first off, I guarantee you as a wig. Yeah, probably are. They shaved right afterwards. Probably it was. Probably, if it was anything, it was probably a way, because my dad he was able to get into a yeah, anybody gless? He did it himself. But I'm just try I don't know. This dude's long gone. Man. MM HMM. Not necessarily. If you're smart, what the fuck? If you're smart, you would just go into the crowd. That's true. Just run like you're running away. This guy semi smart because he's not caught. I haven't found him yet. Obviously he picked the right vantage point. This sounds very disturbing in my part, but you want to think of somebody's smart, that's how you would do it. And he's wearing white or blue. Think about like that too. What's two colors? Everybody's good. Fourth of July. Yeah, everyone's wearing blue, everyone's wearing red, everyone's wearing white. Somebody's gonna notice that ship. Exactly. You literally just gave this the subscribe, subscription description of every anybody...

...there? Everyone fucking there? Yeah, Um, Highland Park is where Michael Jordan's lived. It's where sixteen candles, home alone, risky business and Ferris Bueller were all filmed. Yees, see the thing about people trying to find the kid's parents. They found apparently they found him. Okay, good, good, good, good, good, good. Steve Hofsteadter tweeted something about it. Um, and nothing. Nothing else. Not. Hang on, CNN has got updates. Um, all right. So CNN just did a kind of what we know. Now catch up things. So that's what we've got here. Is Um. All right. So where it happened? Highland Park, Illinois, twenty five miles north of downtown Chicago. Um. Police say the shooting started about twenty minutes from the start of the parade. Um, suspected shooter. Um, let's see. So Commander Chris O'Neill, Incident Commander, said on Monday that the suspect is a white male between eighteen and twenty years old, has longer black hair, a small build and is wearing a white or blue t shirts. Suspect has not been identified. Police say they combed through social media to try to identify threats on the parade, but said the suspect was discreet. Um The shooting. Sergeant Christopher Covelli from the Lake County Major Crime Task Force said police have recovered a hiphe a quote, high powered rifle, unquote, on the rooftop of a business. Police say they believe the shooter was on the rooftop when he opened fire. Cavelli said the suspect lightly access the roof from a ladder in the alley. Officials have not disclosed where the building is. Specifically, a firearm that was recovered in highland park after the shooting is being urgently traced to figure out who purchased the weapon and where it came from. According to Kim Nurheim, apologies, spoke person for the Bureau of Alcal Tobacco on firearms and explosives. The victims. Five of the people that were killed during the shooting died at the scene. Jennifer Bannock, the Lake County Corner said all those people were adults. Another person died after they were transported to a local hospital. Cavelli said that it appeared the spectators and parade participants were targeted. Of those that were taken to the hospital, highland park fire chief Joe shrage said at least one of them was a child who was critically injured. Some of the victims injured had gunshot wounds and varied from the abdomento limbs. He said that the guy sounds like he was just firing randomly. Witnesses, every people who attended the parades told CNN they thought the gunshots were fireworks at first. Zoe Powell's ax said that. Said when she realized something was wrong, she grabbed her dad's and running. Others decide described the scene as chaotic as people ran away and took shelter. That's literally all we know right now. Not A lot, at least not as far as the public does. They might know more now it's been a couple of hours. They might know more about the gun they're not releasing yet because obviously they're not going to release anything that might jeopardize jeopardize the investigation. Um, yeah, yeah, Yep, it's fast. Thing I expected talking about today. Yeah, Noh, ship, m HM HM. Yeah, how do you even saw this issue and then getting read of guns? Because they're not gonna get read of guns now. It's not. They're not. That would they would have happened by now, I know. But like, this is literally on the country's birthday. This is the country's birthday party and it happened today in a predominantly white, upper middle class suburb. Like this wasn't in because, because, because people love to use as an excuse, oh, it was in a high crime area, and we've said it several times. Are they that this is probably a high crime area? It's like, no, this was a this was, this was a slice of Americana, White Bread, picket fence. Yeah, this was, this was, this was, you know, leave it to beaver's town. This was, you know, just that. You know that that Norman Rockwellian h slice of America type place? Yeah, what point? Like this is gonna sound really fucked up. What if, finally, if there's that one shooting and everybody's like yeah, we need to do something about and they do it,...

...is that guy considered a hero at that point? You know what? That person depends on who it is and IESIGHT's a guy, because most of the time it's a guy. Probably gonna be a guy. So it's kind of like, MHM, no, I think. I think no matter what happens, whoever comes across and says okay, fine, let's do it, they're not going to be looked at as Oh, good for you. They're gonna be looked at as Oh, now it's enough. Yeah, now it's enough. What were we? We we hit the quota, did we? That's the fucking quota. Yeah, quotas a politicians child. That's what a quote. That's. Well, look what happened when when kavanaugh thought that like someone was stalking him or whatever, and they were talking about beefing up security and ship at his house and it was like, Oh, is there a problem? Yeah, it was something wrong. Guys, you don't feel after the one that happened to do vality when they were talking about not allowing guns at the N R a convention. Oh really, you don't want to the guns in there? Weird how that happens. fucking hypocrites. No real answers. That's say. An R A stands for it to me. No real answers. That's good I like that. That's good. They fucking Jesus. Yeah, yeah, I'm if I was a Batman I put all my money on a r fifteen, I would. I would. Yeah, no, I would, I would bet everything that's an a r fifteen. This guy knew what he was doing. was what the fun he was doing. This was planned. This was planned as fuck. This is like very in fact, they haven't caught him yet. Yeah, this is a very detailed planned this isn't like because there were because, again, this is a parade. There were cops there. You can see it in the video, and he still got away with basically no description other than just kind of young white guy wearing anything and everybody else is wearing. They don't even know what color the shure this it could be blue, could be white. Those are two colors that are pretty easy to distinguish, honestly. So, yeah, I'm I am rooting for the forensics team right now. I am rooting for them harder than anyone because it's gonna come down to them at this point. It's gonna come down to it what, if anything, they can pull off that gun if they ever find him. It's it's it's entirely possible, and that scares the shit out of me because I don't think anybody come into match you. He's got in a way, not that I can think of. They've always either killed them at the scene or they get arrested. They get arrested or within like the most we had, the most that didn't was the Boston Marathon bombing. I think they took took it like a day to catch those guys, but reddit was a lot to thank for that. And they caught the one guy I'm hiding out like on a boat and a dock or something like that. Um, but everybody. Yeah, this is the first where they've like gotten away that I can think of. I could be completely fucking wrong, but the whole Boston thing was wild because like, obviously the right a thing about like so the Boston Red Sox. Obviously it's a huge thing, that that Boston strong thing. But like I don't remember watching that game pregame thing and David Ortiz was like this is our fucking and they never leaped it or cut it out, just left it because they're like we get it, yeah, we'll pay the fine, it's cool. Yeah, now we're going over to fucking speaking of guns. It's really weird. So there's this weird story about David Ortiz from Dominican Republic. Everybody, if you're a baseball player from Dominican you're a God. So apparently somebody paid somebody to Rob David or shoot David Ortiz what like. This is wild. Like a few years way before, like two years before covid they did. He almost died. Holy Shit. Henry, the owner, flew the Artis back to the America surgery and ship. But they beat the fuck really everybody down there beat the funk out the guy that shot him to like an inch of his life, because you do not funk with ballplayers down there, because he is literally like a humanitarian. Like him, David Ortiz is beloved and beloved. They beat the funk out of that dude. That's made me think when you said the Boston marathon thing. Yeah, I just I'm sure they're gonna find every avenue and trying to hear who these fucking people the person is. The only well, I take that at mass shooting one's lasted forever was the DC sniper. Yeah, I god, I forgot about the DC snipe. Is the most. That's crazy. That one was fucked that one was. Remember that, Jesus.

I remember especially because they made Um, they made like a TV movie about that, like like within a year of it happened. They remember because because I remember, even as a kid, being like that's kind of fucked as a kid. I think it's a teenager, but I still was like a little fucked up. That one was the one, lad, but they caught him. Yeah, but again, yeah, yeah, name one where they didn't catch that. He also was like. I mean I think he fucked up on mail. They figured out sometimes how the way he mailed it. Um, but his is like genius. How he did it. I had somebody else in the back of a car trunk so he could shoot people from the trunk of a car like and it disguised the muzzle. You'd never see the muzzle. You wouldn't even see the flash. So this is from ABC News. Was the only two living US mass school shooters who are not incarcerated. Oh, this, this one goes on the one they killed themselves. I was googling like mass shooters that got away and I'm not getting anything. Yeah, I can't. I can't think of one a thought. But again, there's been so many that end up. They usually end up dying it getting killed by cops at the scene or getting or they surrender. There's really no I think most of them want, I get killed. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, they do. They for whatever reason. Um, I don't know. Seeing they're pulling up, there's already a wikipedia page for this thing. I'm pulling up to see the Anian film there that I may have missed or something's got an update and see what they're saying. Injured victims range from eight to eighty five. Ten of the individuals came by ambulance. Twenty five of them sustained it did sustain gunshot wound injuries. Nineteen twenty five of the Gunshot Victim Nineteen of the twenty five gunshot victims were treated and have been discharged to go home. Two patients were transported to Evanston Hospital. This is coming out of North Shore University health. Um. So two were sent to Evanston Hospital. The patients range from eight to eighty five years. Four of the five patients were children, according to temple for I'm sorry, four or five of the patients were children. It was mostly adults. M So it was all started with muskets. Yeah, people wanted the right to have a musk get in there in their hut, their cabin. Never he said Hi, I thought about Pizza Hut. It's like a must get a pizza high Um. Yeah, they wanted to have bright to have a mus get in there in their cabins. YEA happy four July everybody, and obviously we're recording this on on the fourth of July, on Monday. So by the time this episode comes out, hopefully they found the guy. Hopefully they found the guy or I'm sure information has changed. I'M gonna put this up kind of just as soon as I can. I'm probably I'M NOT gonna wait till Thursday. Probably. It's fun, crazy, it's weird. I'm never saying anything at the beginning of ever again. I can tell you that right fucking now. Um, yeah, uh Um. Members of Highland Park High School banded football team are all safe schools. District Superintendent says that's good. How do you grasp onto whatever good news you can? I guess at what point, like if it's an a r fifteen, like, do you just stop? So in the gun? They're going to go to some of the things, like you stop saying they go to something else. But like, why is that gun always used, the most semi automatic? He bumps up. But why is that gun, of all the guns, always used? I think I remember somebody's like something about it being like easily upgradable, easily modifiable. Um, what point? You just shoot, sue the show, the Guney manufacturers so they can't do it anymore. Yeah, no, I know, I'm just saying, like, I think the reason they that it's always that one is because of it's basically like it's an easy gun to use, an easy gun to do what you want with. I mean the guy who shot, who did the shooting in Dayton, moded the funk out of it. Yeah, and they ended up didn't the dude who got the MODS for...

...him? He's in jail and away. I know he was. I know he got arrested. Imagine, just like somebody asked you to buy mods for him and then just buy. I mean, I know it's illegal, but you don't. Well, you don't. You just don't think anything. Like this guy isn't gonna do anything because we're there like friends or something like that. It was a buddy of his. Yeah, so you're like, you don't really think. I mean what he did was illegal, but you're never like buying something like that thinking like that person would do something. You know what I mean? Yeah, just just putting it out there. If you're a friend of mine, you asked me to buy gun mods for you. funk off again. I would never do it except first funnel own a gun. Nor do I believe in owning again. But it's just like what? I just don't get it. I don't. I don't either. Let's just bring back jousting. I feel like we just got rid of all guns and everybody jousted. Just go back to the swing m over your head, slingshots. That's what David used to take out goale. It's all you needed. Get some of that and some big Dick Energy and you're sucking some a slingshot, some big Dick Energy and faith in the Lord and you will. I do wonder if it's a hate crime with all the anti the all that I want, because again, granted, that article was from back in April, but still, this guy is smart. Yeah, which it kind of sounds like he is. Well and and a lot of those a lot of those Neo Nazi groups are like they tend to have this is not. This is not a slight at the armed forces, but there's usually like some some crazy ex military guys, the ones who are the ones who were probably dishonorably discharged, you know, or didn't make the cut because, for as a friend of mine can attest, you went through baby who tried to be a marine. He was like there are guys who don't even he's like, the Marines will take just about sucking anybody in the army, like they will take just about anybody into basic training. He's like, but if they tell they don't even let you go to basic, you know you are fucked up. He's like there were guys who didn't even get to go to go through basic, like they you know, do like the the interviews and all that, and before they even signed them on the base and they were telling these guys like no, and they could just tell that there was something off with these guys. Um. And then there then then there are guys who get sent home from basic because like Um, a buddy of mine who who was in basic with the Marines, he was telling me how m there was a guy when they were doing like when they were doing like rifle training, like on the shooting range and all that, like they're trained to Um shoot, to Um disabled first. So you know, you're taught to just basically just makes you know, put some you know, neutralize the threat, not necessarily kill the person who tying the threat. But there were guys who were going to shooting range and we're just only going for headshots. Those guys get sent the funk home because they're like something wrong with this guy, he wants to kill. So so, yeah, you see it all the time in these neo Nazi groups where it's usually like some disgraced ex soldier or something like Dad who teaches these guys this, these fucked up strategies and ship like we've been talking about. You know how to do this and do that and avoid getting caught. And you know, he probably watched to probably know some Parkour or some bullshit too. You know, let's let's run and get away. Tom Holland. What Fuck? Spider man, my friend was in the middle that. He was an army. He got discharge from the army medically. The only reason he got he won't he wanted to do it. Is So I went through basic two days before bakers basic was over. They were running sprints going down, he felt a pop in his knee. He tried to wrote down again, to turn around and go back, and he felt like two other POPs tore all his ligaments in his knee. Oh my God, and they were like they're going to give him surgery and then he had to run basic again and he was like, I'm not doing basically. He's like I had two days left, and he just he was and they were gonna make him do it all over again and he's just like no, no, I'm surprised they were going to let him come back because you, you, you, you do that to your knee. At that point they're like by yeah, because they had the option together medically, medically discharge, or start over or start completely over. At that point I'm out. Yeah, he's like, I'm fucking like, I'm not going through that again, and honestly, I didn't blame him. Like imagine tearing up your knee like that and then like you'll never walk right again. Oh God, no, you'll never walk right, because I mean, anytime that happens to an athlete, they're done. And my one friend, he speaks Farsi, so because he speaks Farsi, they wanted him to go overseas for everything that happened, and he was like no, Heah. He got recruited multiple times. He's like, do you think it's bad what they do with soldiers, like like actual like White American soldiers? He's like because he's he's he's like, I'm a fucking trader to them, even though I was born here. He's like, you guys think it's bad, it's for me, it's tenfold, and he's like, I very...

...fused. He's like they'll pay you. He's like, no amount of money. No amount of money. They sent me to translator, no amount of money. That's what they were that that's why a lot of times you'd hear about where they were trying to find people locally who would translate for and be like no, if we're seen helping you guys in any way, families and families, because they were John Oliver did a thing about that. Where they were these, because they would tell them like, if you do this, we'll get you and your family citizenship in the US. You guys come over here. And there were dozens of them who never made it to the US or if they did, their families were killed and even then it wasn't like they got to just go to the US. They still had to go through the immigration process, which is a bitch and a half. It was like, yeah, I did all this translator work for the U S Army, but then I still had to stay here locally for like three years while they processed all my ship and in that time, like they he's like they murdered my my mom and my dad and my brother, like they murdered my whole family. So, Oh, this episode is brought to you by depression, brought to you by Lexi pro. I'm not even gonna edit this episode. I'm just gonna Upload it as it is. I think, honestly, that's what you should do. It's pretty raw. It is literally we sat down, I hit record and we were like, what is there to talk about? We talked about the the guy who was running from the police and got shot sixty times, which is a different kind of fun up Um, and I was like, all right, let's go on Google News and see what else is. What else is going? Oh well, ship, that's how you should begin the episode. Yeah, H.
